Senior Project Engineer

Our client is a multi discipline engineering, procurement and construction management company. They are an industry leader in the development and design of new technologies for the Oil and Gas industry of Western Canada.  The work includes a broad range of capital and operational projects from facilities to pipelines.  The primary focus is on the development of new technologies in water/waste treatment, carbon capture, and gas management strategies in the design and development of pilot plants.  Other specialties include new upgrading technologies, SAGD optimization, pipelines and Oil & Gas infrastructure.  

Responsibilities:
  • Review, selection and approval of mechanical specifications for processing equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, components, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and storage tanks.
  • Support engineering analysis for modifications and new designs of piping, pressure vessels and mechanical equipment
  • Ensuring code requirements are met
  • Reviewing project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy
  • Overall supervision/coordination of the project through the designated project engineering team
  • Ability to manage, direct and supervise all assigned project functions ensuring the needs of the project are fully met through safe, efficient, fit for purpose design and construction work on time and within budget
  • Liaise with the client and project team to ensure the needs of the project are met
  • Review and approval of project estimate to achieve given scope of work
  • Responsible for working within the procedures and requirements followed by the company.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Process Preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
  • 10+ years experience
  • Must have strong PC skills and excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent planning and execution drive to deliver results and meet quality, cost and schedule targets
  • Good Communication Skills
