Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for QA/Tester for a 12 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

The client requires the QA Test Analyst to review Business Requirements, create test plans and test various systems. The incumbent will participate in all operating and maintenance projects across all sections of IT Services.

Requirement or Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Understanding of Active Directory Domain and Group Policies.
- Able to troubleshoot application installation and integration issues on Windows operating systems.
- Previous experience with Sharepoint family of software products.
- Minimum of five years QA/Testing experience in a client server and web based environment.
- Strong knowledge of System Development Life Cycle.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies.
- Experience in writing test documentation.
- Knowledge and experience in tracking problems and defects using Compuware TrackRecord.
- Solid experience in executing testing and analyzing the results.
- Expert in quality assurance, test strategy, and test planning.
- Experience using Automated Test and Requirements Management tools preferably by Compuware/MicroFocus; IBM/Rational; HP/Mercury.
- Working knowledge of testing IT Security Vulnerabilities.
- Experience with non-functional testing such as: system and database backup and restore testing, scalability and performance testing, testing of application reliability, availability, accessibility, usability, maintainability/ support, and business continuity plan testing.
- Knowledge of programming concepts is a must
- Working knowledge of Windows NT/XP and MS Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Duties
- Working with Application Services to test the various enhancements necessary to maintain the business functions of customers.
- Working with the ITS Infrastructure group on some of their initiatives such as compatibility testing when introducing new hardware or software to IT Infrastructure.
- Application testing (execution of test plan, including defect/issue tracking to resolution)
- Testing of new Software packages (COTS-Commercial Of The Shelf Software)
- Verification and Testing of Software and Hardware changes (RFC)
- Reports and Data testing
- Creation of Test Plans
- Documentation of Record of Test Results
- Verification and Testing of new Software and Hardware installations at TTC service stops and stations (LCD and LED signage)
Night shifts testing and usage of personal vehicle may be required
