About the Job:

Our client has a requirement for an Infrastructure Architect for a six month opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role:

The primary focus of this role is to work with the Service and Platform Owners in ITS to assist with advancing the efficiency, effectiveness and availability of those services. The position also acts in a consultative role to ensure appropriate use of services and to ensure that solutions meet the required levels of quality and compliance to standards.

 For this specific opportunity, focus is on the Operations areas, and the infrastructure technologies, tools and processes they rely on to run the organization’s systems.

Responsibilities:

Key accountabilities include:

• the creation and maintenance of infrastructure architecture strategies, blueprints and standards required to define the roadmap of change for these services
• Work closely with Platform/Service Owners to define strategic direction for the service technology and ensure alignment with overall Enterprise Strategy
• Provide architectural guidance to Service Owners on changing business needs – link between business requirements and ITS capabilities
• Provide consultation and guidance to solution designers
• Provide consultation and guidance to Operations management
• Participate in QA and governance processes as required
• Engage in solutioning for line of business projects as needed.

Requirements or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Knowledge of concepts, philosophies and tools behind the design of applications, information and underlying information technologies,
• Thorough knowledge of the organization's IT environment including vendor software and relationships,
• Specific knowledge in operations tooling domains
• Exception Detection/ Performance Monitoring: Microsoft SCOM, Tivoli ITM / ITCAM, Tivoli ITNM
• Event Management, Notification, Impact Analysis: Tivoli Netcool/ OMNIBus / Impact
• Server Provisioning, Configuration Management: HP Business Server Automation, Tivoli Configuration Manager / TPM
• Configuration Management Systems and related Discovery tools: HP Universal CMDB
• Capacity Management/ Planning Analytics: CiRBA
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrating an ability to interact effectively with both technical experts and senior executives.
• Able to communicate complex and sensitive issues in a confidential and professional manner
• Proven ability to adapt to various technologies
