Windows Server/OS Support Specialists

Client Information:
 
Zylog Systems is looking for a Windows Server/OS Support Specialist to work with our high profile Government of Canada client. 
 
Job Description:
  • Co-ordinates and executes maintenance tasks with the goal of preventing unexpected downtime of infrastructure resources. Tasks can include but not limited:
  • Screening of system resource logs, antivirus scanned logs, patching analysis logs to identify issues;
  • Investigates the root cause of an incident or a series of incidents, and recommends corrective action to prevent the recurrence of unexpected downtime
  • Troubleshooting, provide and execute corrective action plan, system patching, antivirus protection scanning, and corporate applications upgrades.
  • Facilitates installation and configuration of corporate supported software
  • perform AD administrative tasks for user access & permission based on organization standards and procedures
  • Root cause analysis including troubleshoot, develop, and execute correction action plan for reported incident or a series of incidents

 
Qualifications:
 
  • Enhanced security
  • Minimum of eight (8) years in IT
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 OS within Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 domain environment with at least 1000 users
  • Two (2) different client projects, with accumulated minimum of 12 months experience, in administering and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 infrastructure in VMware ESX 3.x or above environment
  • Experience in installation of server OS (2003 and 2008) and configuration of server roles (AD, DNS, DHCP, Web, File Services, FTP) within a heterogeneous IT environment
  • Microsoft certified IT Professional for Microsoft Windows 2008 or an MCSE
