Project Coordinator

Job Description: 
Our client has a requirement for Project Coordinator for a Fulltime opportunity.  The position is located in Calgary. 
 
Requirement or Qualifications:
 
Qualified Candidates will:
 
 
-    Provides high level administration leadership and duties on current IT programs to enhance and support the system implementations within the IT portfolio.
-    Coordinates small projects or phase(s) of large project from inception and design to implementation under the supervision of a Project Manager
Assists the Project Manager with data gathering, documentation of project management processes and tools, and updating reports  
 
Project Management Accountabilities
 
  • Works under a Project Manager and is assigned to coordinate small projects or workstream of larger projects
  • Typically, involved in projects with narrow scope, limited risk, complexity and resource requirements and often concern a single functional area within I
  • Provides support in the monitoring of project' progress against standards, timelines, plans and budget assists in the creation of status reports (and other reporting requirements)
  • Assists with developing a work plan and timeline to ensure timely completion of project
  • Provides support to project team in managing issues and risks
  • Develops and maintain project document library (performance management tools, methodologies, etc.)
  • Assists with the preparation of project team meetings
  •  Identifies non-standard issues and escalates them to the Project Manager responsible for the project
  • Contributes to adherence to Client quality standard
  • Consolidates post-implementation review and closure of project according to a set process
  • Assists in the development of business cases and proposal

 
 
 
Relationship Management Accountabilities
 
  • Communicates regularly with Project Manager and other internal stakeholders regarding project status updates (via reporting) and distributes project documents required by IT
  • Participates in meetings to assist in documenting actions items, user requirements, and issue
  • Develops relationships with Project Manager and other internal stakeholders to provide assistance in developing and publishing project deliverables and documents.
  • Provides high level administration leadership and duties on current IT programs to enhance and support the system implementations within the IT portfolio.

Delivering Solutions:
 
  • Manages multiple priorities and deliverables to ensure that project initiatives remain on time and budget
  • Proposes alternative solutions to complex problems and identified gaps around project management processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Risk management and identification of problems and issues. 
  • Uses analytical skills to quickly identify potential problems and challenges and escalate them as appropriate.
  • Monitors specific deliverables and timelines, as well as, issues and risks to minimize risk and escalation of issues in the project
  • Proposes alternative solutions to support the Project Manager in solving a range of complex problems to ensure successful delivery of the project
  • Identifies and communicates any project-related issues encountered before they become major problems that may jeopardize the attainment of project objectives
  •  May have limited ability to influence thinking of other team members/stakeholders
  • Any project issue that cannot be resolved within the project governance guidelines and policies concerning a delay in project deliverables, a required increase to the budget outside of any planned cost contingencies would be escalated
  
 Qualifications:
 
-              Post-secondary degree or relative experience
-              Preference may be given to those in process of achieving a Project Management designation 
-              3 to 5 years of work-related experience
-              Working knowledge of project management principles, tools and methodologies
-              Working knowledge of MS Office suite, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel

-              Healthcare knowledge and experience is considered an asset
-              General knowledge in IT functional areas
-              Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking
-              Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
-              Strong written and oral communication skills
