DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Job Description
 
As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Operations is responsible for providing leadership, direction and oversight for all field related operational activities that are conducted across the bases of our client.
 
The role will provide strong leadership and clear direction to the operations management team, ensuring managers and team members effectively operationalize, implement, and execute organizational strategies set forth by the CEO and Executive Team.
 
In addition the director will oversee the management of employee / labour relations issues including conflict and grievance resolution; participate in collective agreement negotiations as required; cultivate a healthy and respectful workplace and effectively introduce and manage change, supporting staff through change to maintain morale
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • University degree in business, health sciences or related field; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years in senior management with strong operational focus
  • Demonstrated experience in a unionized environment & labour relations management resolutions
  • Sound understanding of Transport Medicine practices, principles and regulations gained through at least 5 years of clinically related experience in transport medicine
  • Experience in planning, developing, executing and monitoring large and diverse operational budgets
  • Proven ability to lead union and non-union management and staff
  • Ability to effectively interact and conduct business with senior staff and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making and crisis management skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient with MS Office applications
