Core Qualifications
- Experience developing and maintaining large scale IT systems
- Experience analysing complex requirements for large scale businesses. Able to abstract and simplify complex requirements.
- Experience designing rules-based, data-driven applications
- Experienced in the use of data analysis to define data structures that enable simpler, more robust application designs
- Experience using structured application design methodologies
- Able to read and analyze COBOL code
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills - ability to collaborate successfully with persons of different roles and temperaments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work well in many different modes: business analysis, strategic application planning, data analysis, high level and detail application design, etc.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience refactoring legacy COBOL applications to improve reliability and reduce costs
- Experience with Medical Claims systems
