DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM 
Job Description
The Land Command Systems Support, Engineering and Integration Support Contract (LEISC), provides In-Service Support for radio and command and control systems for the Canadian Forces Army.  The LEISC Program Team provides Engineering cognizance; maintains Test and Integration Facilities; provides Repair and Overhaul services; and Program Management services as tasked by our customer. 

PURPOSE OF POSITION 
As part of the Field Support Services (FSS) Team, the successful candidate will be employed in Land Force Central Area at CFB Petawawa and support the customer with the operation and maintenance of the Land Command Support System (LCSS).  This will include support for the operation and troubleshooting both in garrison and field support to exercise deployments. 

TYPICAL DUTIES 
It is expected that the FSR will be GD Canada's representative working under customer direction.  Typical tasks would include, but not be limited to:
  • Loading firmware and software on all platforms.
  • Diagnose/troubleshoot problems and recommend corrective action(s). 
  • Assist with the investigation and characterization of reported problems. 
  • Perform troubleshooting of the LCSS bearer system and applications software. 
  • Develop and present informal LCSS training to internal and external customers. 
  • Provide guidance in the operation and maintenance of LCSS system components. 
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and GD Engineering staff to resolve technical issues. 
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports to the LCSS Chief System FSR. 
  • Continuous upgrade skills and knowledge in order to maintain currency as the LCSS system evolves. 

The FSR will be required to deploy to the field on Military exercises as required.
EDUCATION 
  • It is mandatory that the candidate:Ability to become Cisco CCNA certified is a requirement.  
    • have at least five years Military experience working as operator/technician/technologist on military communications systems,
    • have recent work experience in LCSS System, and
    • possess strong written and oral communications skills at a technical level.
  • Ability to become Cisco CCNA certified is a requirement.  

EXPERIENCE 
It is mandatory that the candidate have at least five years Military support experience and have recent work experience in LCSS System.  Bilingualism and instructional experience on the LCSS system would be an asset. 

The successful candidate should be:
  • A minimum 5 years experience working in the field with military communications systems.
  • Experienced working with the MS Office suite of applications.
  • Demonstrated skills in a data networking environment.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian "SECRET" and "NATO SECRET" security clearances to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.  The security clearance requires a minimum 5 year consecutive residence in Canada
