Job Description
The Land Command Systems Support, Engineering and Integration Support Contract (LEISC), provides In-Service Support for radio and command and control systems for the Canadian Forces Army.  The LEISC Program Team provides Engineering cognizance; maintains Test and Integration Facilities; provides Repair and Overhaul services; and Program Management services as tasked by our customer.  
PURPOSE OF POSITION 
As part of the Field Support Services (FSS) Team, the successful candidate will be embedded within Army National Operations Centre (ANOC) in Ottawa ON to support a suite of High Assurance Guards (HAGs) that enable the secure transmission of information between different security domains.  The HAGs consist of hardware and software providing information transfer for e-mail (SMTP), chat (XMPP), MIP DEM (PDU/XML), imagery, and web services (RDP).  The successful candidate will focus on the administration, operation and maintenance of these guards and must be prepared to assist DND personnel at any hour of the day or night as may be required.  
TYPICAL DUTIES 
Typical tasks would include but not limited to:
  • Manage, maintain, administer, configure, monitor, control and troubleshoot all HAG-related hardware and software, including client software or hardware installations.
  • Liaise with ANOC support, in-theatre support and the NESS for any issues related to the LCSS CAN/US or LCSS-I instances.
  • Provide remote helpdesk support to users.
  • Monitor, coordinate, analyze and record comments, observations and critical feedback from the DND staffs and provide a written report when required.
  • Perform regular updates and backup activities.
  • Dispatch problems to appropriate personnel resources.
  • Create and conduct tests or demonstrations.
  • Configure workstations, servers, guards and ancillary devices (e.g. intrusion detection systems, firewalls)
  • Update deployment manuals/ guides
  • Provide feedback to development teams
    • Provide training and mentoring to turn over the HAG to a DND employee (military or public servant) 
  • EDUCATION 
    • Have a diploma, certificate or civilian qualification from a recognized post secondary institution or equivalent military qualification related to Information Technology.
    • Possess a current CCNA Certification and an advanced understanding of the networking components of LCSS that impact the operational use of CDS and the HAGs
    • Have an understanding of the Army environment and structures (e.g., Army organizations, Army command and staff structures, Army rank structure and the Army technical reporting chain).   
    EXPERIENCE 
    It is mandatory that the candidate have at least ten years Military support experience and have recent work experience in LCSS System.  Fluency in both written and spoken English and French is required. 
    The successful candidate should be:
    • A minimum 5 years military experience at a Senior NCO/Officer level.
    • Have a minimum of one (1) year of direct experience in providing system management and/or information management support to the Land Forces in force generation or training activities or equivalent experience
    • Have a minimum of three (3) years of related Information Technology experience in a Microsoft Windows Server/Client support environment. 
    OTHER 
    The successful candidate must be eligible to hold Canadian SECRET clearance
