Media Publisher 1 (IUDC.07 $22.70 - $29.49) Casual On Call – Evenings and Weekends

  • In accordance with a well-defined internal and external standards, specifications and procedures, uses industry standard desktop publishing print and web publishing tools to format multi-page documents and using templates, master pages, merge files, style sheets, and text styles. 
  • Combines text and graphics to produce company documentation for print and web media. 
  • Formats documents from handwritten, typed or computer generated drafts. Transfers and reformats electronic files from one software package or hardware platform to another. Checks and incorporates content, style and format changes/corrections to existing electronic files. 
  • Provides expert knowledge/guidance to authors/contributors on best use of composition tools; trains junior and temporary staff on software, templates, equipment and departmental practices. 
  • Conducts document quality peer review as required. 
  • Ensures regular formal data backup and archiving is completed. 
  • Makes minor changes to existing illustrations or creates simple block diagrams. 
  • Performs scanning services; verification and document clean-up; database entry for departmental records and files; 
  • Produces digital printed or copied materials in in-house production facility as required. 
  • May order supplies for any graphics team requirements as needed. 
  • Performs other related duties as required. 
REQUIRED EDUCATION

Equivalent to secondary school and 1 year of formal post secondary education achieving a college certificate/diploma in relevant field e.g. office administration, desktop publishing, etc.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 
  • Requires over 2 years up to and including 4 years experience in a related work environment.
  • Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office Suite specifically MS Word.
  • Experience with industry standard desktop publishing and graphic tools.
