Our client has a requirement for a Permanent Role as a Remote Network Support Administrator in Kanata. As the Administrator, you will be responsible for all remote monitoring of external systems for clients requiring outside support.  This will include Designing/Implementing complex local and wide-area networks, establishing policies on system use and services, and day to day administration of Microsoft server/AD environment and network related systems.

Requirement or Qualifications:

• More than five years of previous system administration experience
• CompTIA Network + Certified
• CompTIA A+ Certification (Hardware & Software)
• MCITP or MCSE: Server Administrator 2008
• Experience with:  Desktop and laptop hardware support, Windows XP/Vista7 Workstation, Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server, Exchange 2003/2010, Server Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix), TCP/IP protocol suite and Ethernet networks
• Knowledge of Network and Desktop management tools such as Open Manage, Netflow, and Microsoft SMS
• Knowledge of UPS and power supplies – monitoring and configuring for best performance
• Capable of writing proposals or paper, acting as a vendor liaison, marking presentations to customers or client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with upper management.
• A solid understanding of Windows Networks; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do, file system concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions), can use performance analysis to tune systems
• A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands principles of routing, client/server programming, and the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts

Nice to have:

• Citrix certified
• VMware Certified

Job Description

Our GTA client has a requirement for an Infrastructure Support Specialist for a 6 months contract located in Toronto.

Deliverables

•Support of servers, application systems, troubleshooting, enhancements & maintenance

•Provide support on software issues in response to end user requests

•Monitor the network environment (LAN or external client service network) to ensure that problems are identified and resolved

•Provide troubleshooting and optimization for technical problems within an area

•Create user accounts and support users in accessing network resources

•Track and control the change management process within a project

•Participate in ongoing process improvement, and recommend process change

•Sign off on application upgrades

•Provide feedback to Project Manager regarding progress, barriers and strategies to deliver the project

•Create user documentation with regards to the above deliverables

•Create, update and augment operational run books and deployment guides with regards to the above deliverables

•Provide in depth analysis of all issues that arise and document the analysis and results

•Provide support on hardware issues and work with vendors to address the issue

•Provide cross functional team support as required or requested by the Project Manager

•Manage all defined operational processes and policies as defined

Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

•University Degree or relevant certification in this area or equivalent 5 years industry experience.

•2 years experience working in a NOC environment.

•Knowledge and experience using JIRA.

•Knowledge and experience using FootPrints.

•Knowledge and experience using Hyperic and Splunk.

•Knowledge and experience support Citrix.

•Experience supporting windows server 2003 and 2008.

•Experience performing root cause analysis.

•Experience working with external vendors on root cause analysis.

•Experience in high paced, multi-task, multi-application support environments.

•Experience working in environments meeting aggressive SLA.

•Experience with cross functional team support in an operations and/or infrastructure group.

•Experience in the healthcare environment.

•Experience with Human Resource and Financial systems.

•Experience with support requests in Quadrant and Microsoft’s Great Plains Dynamics server environments.

•Operations experience in a technical health care environment

•Experience in operational in depth level troubleshooting and enterprise level support environment

• End-to-end infrastructure design and integration of new technology.

• Document procedures and step-by-step guides relating to job activities
• Document and maintain licenses for department/organization

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist department team members with tasks if required
• Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members
• On-call rotation
• Be involved in after-hours maintenance activities

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years experience in Information Technology of which at least 3 years are in an Intermediate Systems Administration role
• Microsoft Certification is a plus (MSCA, MCSE or MCITP)

Our client has a requirement for a Solution Delivery Analyst – Remote Access for a six month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto, ON.


Role

As a Solution Delivery analyst of the Remote Access Team, the roles and responsibilities include the order fulfillment of Remote Access Requests. The position involves interacting with the various IT groups to coordinate the functions and requirements necessary to complete the Remote Access requests across the enterprise. In addition, the individual will be working closely with the Remote Access support team addressing exception scenarios and issues as required. There will be ongoing collaboration with the different support groups to establish new and streamline existing processes by formulating effective escalation plans.


Responsibilities

•Manage requests submitted on the RARF (Remote Access Request Fulfillment) forms
•New Remote/Internal Access
•Remove Remote/Internal Access
•Domain/Name Change
•Token replacements
•Pandemic Platform
•Execute RARF scripts for all the forms on the portal
•Provision RSA tokens for access to New Remote Access users
•Provision RSA Soft token for Vendors and Emergencies/Lost tokens
•Maintain database/spreadsheet for tracking purposes using Excel 2009
•Participate in team meetings and keep group updated and current
•Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the group
•Monitor the generic mailboxes/responses of the RAS team
•Maintain RARF Portal updates
•Liaison with the Mail Room to ensure the RSA token shipping/pick-up in a timely manner
•Add special application processing requests to be escalated to Access Solutions Group
•EA and USD Queue manager
•Monitor and Maintain the Pandemic initiative for the enterprise.
•Liaison with the Access Solutions Groups to maintain Vendor Setup
•Maintain Token Expiry reports and ensure a timely renewal of the RAS service.
•RARF – Updating published applications
•RARF – Updating RO Admin List and Admin List
•Monitor Escalations from the Wholesale Helpdesk and Enterprise Helpdesk
•Maintain the ACE Server clean-up of tokens and user profiles
•Ensure the accurate setup of all new agents in Canada and the US environment.
•Create updated and accurate documentation and training initiatives.
•Liaison with CompliTech/Whitehat (vendor) to facilitate the ordering of physical and software tokens.
•Customizing of the email notification for the token expiry using the ‘Survey Monkey’ tool.
•Liaison with various departments within the organization to provide custom solutions to meet the business needs
•Maintain Audit compliance requirements throughout the entire solution
•Maintain TRIMIS security requirements throughout all the platforms
