Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for Windows Application Packagers for a contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Ottawa.

Our Client is in the process of upgrading its standard desktop from Windows XP SP3 to Windows 7.   As part of this deployment, we require three (3) Windows Application Packagers are required to perform the following: 
  • Read, write and analyze various scripting programs including Windows commands, Power Shell, VBScript, Wise Script, WMI, and Windows Script.
  • Design, test and implement software solutions for a Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 2008, and Active Directory environment.  Must be able to anticipate the strengths and weaknesses inherent to this environment then recommend and deliver a working solution to meet given requirements.
  • Develop unattended, automated packages that deploy COTS applications, fixes and upgrades to the client’s server and workstation platforms.  Must be familiar with the System Center Configuration Manager. 
  • Interact comfortably within a team environment and will be expected to adapt quickly to new demands.  The resource must share ideas as well as take interest in the duties of others as responsibilities can change quickly as back filling for team members may be required.  The resource must also interact well with unit testing and QA specialists, listening objectively as issues are discussed and be willing to transfer knowledge to enable these groups.
  • Produce technical documentation, participate in team meetings.
  • Support and maintenance of existing in-house developed technologies, tools and applications used in the operation and support of the Signet platforms. Including but not limited to:
- Server configuration and maintenance
- WorkStation configuration and maintenance
-  Packaging of applications
 -  Creation of documentations
  • Support network infrastructure personnel in the automation of network administration tasks and activities such as software installation, server and workstation updates.
  • Knowledge transfer to staff.

Requirement or Qualifications:
  • Experience converting MSI packages from windows XP  platforms to Windows 2008  platform (64Bits)
  • Ability to deploy applications using Beyond Trust
  • In depth knowledge of software deployment tools such as:
    • Advanced Installer
    • Beyond Trust
    • SCCM
  • Ability to create documentation
  • Ability to deliver presentations as needed.

Job Description: 
  • End-to-end infrastructure design and integration of new technology.
  • Participate and support all aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through the requirements analysis to implementation and operational handoff.
  • Take a leadership position in the design of infrastructure solutions based on the requirements, architectural roadmap and guiding principles. The key deliverables are the detailed design documentation and specifications.
  • Consults on projects with regards to IS infrastructure information to projects including costs, work packages estimation and identification of dependencies.
  • Review and support Business Case and/or Decision Summary development for projects requiring infrastructure change.
  • Ensuring the infrastructure design is implemented appropriately by the implementation team and revisions to configuration specifications are reviewed, approved and documented.
  • Ensuring designs are approved with TransCanada’s design principles, standards and practices.
  • Delivery of design and configuration specifications.


Qualified Candidates will have:
 
Wintel architecture - Microsoft Windows Server Platform - 2003/2008, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Cluster Services, Microsoft Application Server Platform - IIS 6.0/7.0, SQL Server, MOSS, SCCM, SCOM
             
Key Industry Technologies - Storage (NetApp and EMC), Virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V and Citrix) and Network Infrastructure (Cisco, Nortel, Checkpoint, F5, NetScaler)
             
IT Infrastructure design - Ability to independently complete design plans based on identified requirements which include Bill of Materials, conceptual overview, implementation plan, operational support and resourcing   matrices, and pertinent test scripts.


Other:  
  • Proven ability to integrate requirements from varying areas of the enterprise.
  • Proven ability of designing and implementing a solution that meets requirements, complies with organization architectural and cyber security standards, cognizant of current state and future sustainability.
  • Strong technical knowledge of OS, Middleware and Application Server Products and enterprise delivery.
  • Strong systems integration skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and non-technical language.

Our client has a requirement for a Technical Analyst for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The position can be located in either Mississauga or London, ON.

Role:
We are currently seeking 1 Contractor for 6 months on the Image Engineering team, for Windows XP and Windows 7. This individual will have experience in Image builds and Image deployment. The individual must have previous experience using SCCM OSD, MDT/Windows AIK knowledge, Winbatch and Visual Basic scripting would be an asset. This is for Image building and support in a banking environment. The individual will be part of the desktop team is which is responsible for supporting 3 of the Desktop Infrastructures.  Approx. 42,000 desktops are used in Retail & Wealth Branches as well as Corporate Locations.
 
  
Overview of responsibilities:
The Image Build Engineer is responsible for building and deploying custom desktop images for the client on their Wealth, Retail and Corporate desktops as well as a new Windows 7 image. They will also be responsible for trouble shooting image related issues. The Image builder will use a variety of Tools to create, test and deploy the Image to the various desktop environments. This individual must follow established Image build process and procedures.
  • Build and deployment Services

  • Software Packaging, Distribution, Image Management
  • Package Testing
  • Hardware / Software Standards evaluations
  • Script Support
  • Solution development related to desktop
  • Office Locations – London, Creekside
  • Image Build support is 9 – 5 with possibility of on call


Requirement or Qualifications:
  • 5 yrs- SCCM 2007 OSD knowledge
  • 5 yrs- MDT/Windows AIK knowledge (3-4)
  • 5 yrs- Windows XP and Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit)
  • 5 yrs- Windows XP and Windows 7 troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Visual Basic and Winbatch Scripting
  • Understanding of automation techniques, i.e. Scripts and scheduling, checks and balances
  • Troubleshooting/ Problem Determination
  • Strong documentation and analysis skills.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with the CLIENT workstation technical environment.
  • Past experience delivering requirements within tight time constraints
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience with Novel/Zenworks , Tivoli
  • SCCM/OSD (MS Distribution Tool)
  • Understanding of change management

End User Support Analyst (Deskside Support) - Intermediate

Job Description: 
Our client has a requirement for Deskside Support for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Calgary.

Work description:  Provide Level 1 and 2 End User Desktop Support nationally. 
+ Outlook Email client support skills
+ HP Printer Lan connected hardware support
+ Support clients in an Enterprise environment, with distributed locations.

+ Create and review documentation/processes as required
 
Primary skill set (only required for Non ERP Program):  Strong working knowledge of:
