Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for Quality Management Specialist for a 6 months renewable contract opportunity.  The position is located in Calgary.

This role is for a Senior Quality Management Specialist to take on the end-to-end testing of an off-shore developed application. The quality management specialist would be the only resource on the team tasked with these duties (it is not a team of QA resources to manage). The responsibilities include:                

• Creation and execution of the test plan
• Creation of manual use case/test scripts to be developed with an understanding that business requirements may have gaps           
• Creation of automated functional tests
• Identifying the severity and tracking of all identified issues in TFS             
• Ensuring issues are resolved by the development team in a timely manner         
• Working with the business to identify the user acceptance test plan and negotiating move to production based on severity of bugs remaining.        
• Documenting the results of testing and producing summary level for business acceptance

Requirement or Qualifications:

Experience required in the following:

• Quality Management/Assurance/Control
• Automated Test Development (.Net)
• Business Analysis
• Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• .Net/C#               

Other: 

Request to have an understanding of business requirements is due to a sense that the business requirements/design phase of the project was not as robust as it needed to be. The successful candidate would need to start test planning based on this understanding and develop the test scripts with an approach to overcome the possibility of business requirement shortcomings.     

This role requires very good verbal and written communication skills. There will be a significant amount of face to face interface with the business stakeholders 

Performance Expectations:

Quality management specialist would need to define the Quality expectations for the project to assist in the management of the vendor delivered product.

Client is looking for a BI Architect. Information Technology provides services across the province with respect to the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of technology investments to support corporate and clinical departments. Major initiatives are identified through IT strategic planning and capital planning processes.  Data Management is key themes Health System IT Plan and will have an increasing focus to help client deliver better health services.  Within this plan, the IT Architecture Services team is looking for a Business Intelligence Architect. The BI Architect will play a key role in the delivery of large projects or programs and is responsible for overall system architecture of the projects and programs which drive strategic transformational change for client.  While there is a focus on Business Intelligence, the Architect within Architecture Services is expected to manage across four architecture domains: business, application, information & technology with a focus on the last three as an area of scope.  They are also responsible for managing individuals that may be responsible for specific dimensions of the architecture of the solution that require specialized expertise or effort.

 •Minimum 10 years of experience (usually 15+ years depending on scope and complexity of experience)

•Proven experience in design and development of large, complex applications or systems with a focus on Business Intelligence

•TOGAF or other enterprise architecture knowledge desirable but not mandatory

•Application to expert level knowledge of industry best practices with respect to business intelligence architecture including application of main industry tools like: Oracle, Informatica and Microsoft

•Applied management skills within either project (PMI) and/or operational (ITIL) disciplines

•Able to effectively identify opportunities to apply technology to health services opportunities which enable transformational change to business and clinical processes

•Mature communications skills - able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, from manager to executive level; strong facilitation and negotiation skills

•Ability to design systems in a multi-stakeholder environment

•Creative problem solving and design skills

•Can effectively work in a multi-tier organization structure

Job Description

Our client a major financial institution located in Edmonton, Alberta is looking for an Manager-IT Outsourcing for a 12 month contract to provide relationship management pertaining to current and future outsourcing arrangements, coordination of contract development and renewal, and issue management as appropriate.

Duties:

•Manage the development of new sourcing agreements utilizing industry best practices and processes.

•Provide governance over and maintain existing sourcing agreements utilizing industry best practices and processes.

•Support negotiation strategies and participate in the negotiation of sourcing agreements.

•Participate in benchmarking engagements measuring the qualitative and quantitative aspects of sourcer performance.

•Perform repository management of all documentation relative to the internal group processes and sourcing agreements.

•Produce sourcing agreement related reporting to be used both internally and externally for relationship management purposes.

•Identify and implement process improvement opportunities

•Educate and communicate knowledge expertise to internal sourcing agreement clients

•Support issue and escalation management for sourcing agreements.

•Support and participate in regular joint executive sourcing reviews.

Must have skills:

•Experience in managing outsourcing relationships: proven track record relating to successful development, negotiation, and management of large vendor relationships and contracts

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•Strong working knowledge of contracts and agreements.

•Highly developed facilitation and negotiation skills, including an ability to foster strong relationships with external parties.

•Strong proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.

•Post-secondary accreditation in a related field.

Primary Focus:

• Work closely with Corporate Solution Delivery and Technical Architects to ensure delivery based on Client Enterprise standards and guidelines.
• Ensure changes are performed within change control process for the application and architecture.
• Recommends and implements policies and standards and ensures adherence to security procedures.
• Creates and maintains accurate documentation.
• Provides on-call support as assigned

Prerequisites:

• Must have a university degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience.
• Must have 5 to 7 years experience in Information Technology
• .net and Java programming experience required
• An understanding of the .net and Java architecture

• Vulnerability assessment on systems and remediation to comply with best practices
• Continuous review of logs to capture anomalies/trends/attacks/misuse of resources
• Develop and conduct various training and instructions for system users; assist users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed
• Document system problems and resolutions for future reference
• Document procedures and step-by-step guides relating to job activities
• Document and maintain licenses for department/organization

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist department team members with tasks if required
• Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members
• On-call rotation
• Be involved in after-hours maintenance activities

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years experience in Information Technology of which at least 3 years are in an Intermediate Systems Administration role
• Microsoft Certification is a plus (MSCA, MCSE or MCITP)
