Our client has a requirement for 2 Data Warehousing Specialist (DW Specialist) for 7 month’s renewable contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Toronto. 

• Design and implement the data loading (ETL) and  publishing processes within the DW/BI environment
• Design and implement multi-dimensional models, including the construction of Data View, Dimensions, and Cubes while adhering to enforced development methodologies.
• Design and implement reporting applications including (but not limited to) BI dashboards, reporting cubes and static reports.
• Convert existing reporting tools to a standardized reporting infrastructure using SQL and Microsoft products.
• Design and implement required interfaces for the data warehouse including to BI tools and other applications used by the business
• Identify data quality issues and support the data governance initiative by participating in necessary activities including data profiling.

 SOMMAIRE DU POSTE

En guise de premier mandat chez notre client situé à Montréal, le candidat occupera le poste de programmeur/analyste au sein du Centre d'excellence en gestion des applications (Application Management Center of Excellence), afin de soutenir la mise en ligne en juin 2012 d'un nouveau portail SOA présentant des rapports aux participants et aux promoteurs du régime de retraite.

Le programmeur/analyste en chef fera éventuellement partie de la structure rotative de soutien d'applications. 

Le poste doit être doté immédiatement par un consultant qui aspire à occuper un poste permanent éventuel chez notre client. La durée du mandat initial est de 6 mois avec la possibilité que le poste devienne permanent à tout moment au cours de cette période.

RESPONSABILITÉS CLÉS

• Aider à définir la portée et les objectifs du programme par la recherche et des sondages.
• Participer à la mise en place d'environnements de test, de bibliothèques, d'outils, et autres éléments requis pour exécuter ses tâches.
• Préparer des spécifications détaillées de complexité moyenne à partir desquelles les programmes seront créés ou modifiés en fonction de la complexité de l'application.

ROLE SUMMARY

As a first mandate with Client in Montreal, the candidate will act as a Programmer/ Analyst, within the Application Management Center of Excellence, to support June 2012 release of a new SOA portal for Pension Plan sponsor and member reporting. The Senior Programmer/ Analyst would eventually be part of the rotating application support structure.  Position is to be filled immediately by a consultant who is seeking an eventual permanent position with Client.  Initial mandate will be for a period of 6 months with possibility becoming a permanent position anytime during that period.

• Participates in formulating program scope and objectives through research and fact-finding.
• Helps to set up testing environments, libraries, tools and other elements required to perform his/her duties.
• Prepares detailed specifications of medium complexity from which programs will be created or modified depending on complexity of application.
• Implements a set of specifications by coding, compiling and testing the applications.
• Develops and modifies program documentation for both users and Operations.
• Analyzes and reviews existing system and program logic problems as required.
• Takes an active part with user communities during testing of new or modified applications.
• Takes an active part with other IT specialists during development, test and debug activities.
• Is sometimes called upon to concentrate efforts on testing of applications depending on conditions.
• Is accountable to deliver quality results.

Oracle Database Administrator

Zylog Systems (Canada) Ltd. is currently seeking an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA).  Key responsibilities include:

DB Administration Activities:
1. Monitor and maintain the DB server and instances for all environments (Production, QA/REF, DEV, and Disaster Recovery).
2.Monitor and maintain the routine business cron jobs setup on the DB instances of various types, adjust them according to their usage.
3. Routinely refreshing non-production DB instances with Production DB data.

DB Programming Activities:
1. Provide Production Support, i.e., solve bugs reported about DB operations, extract data/reports according to business/customer requests, integrate with external customers through FTP/SCP file transfer to process batch job posting and other business processes using DB cron jobs calling stored procedures.  Most requests come in the form of issue tracking tickets opened by the Technical Support Team, Account Manager and Business Analyst.
2. Participate in the Design and Development of enhancement/customization requests.  Work with the BA and Developers to understand the new features. Work out the required DB changes including table changes, trigger changes, stored procedure/function changes, DB cron job changes, and create/maintain reports in the MS reporting server, loading translated content into DB.
3. Provide support for external customers running the Talentflow system, through their VPN connection.

DBA tasks can be performed relatively independently (Working closely with the IT Infrastructure Team).  However, the DB programming level tasks require working closely with the BA, Account Manager, Technical Support and lead Developer(s) to provide support/solutions both to the business and to the development team, on a daily basis. 

The opportunity will often present itself for the DBA to interact directly with the Customer to obtain specific requirements related to the database.  The DBA will work with a BA (Business Analyst) and PM (Project Manager) at the time of Business Requirements Gathering.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certified as an Oracle DBA
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 6 years of DBA working experience building, deploying and administering distributed Oracle database management systems
• Sound knowledge of database auditing, audit logging, creating benchmark for audit points
• Experience with database security and database encryption
• Sound knowledge of users access and database privileges
• Experience with deploying database security patches and remediation of database vulnerabilities.
• Experience with installation, configuration and maintenance for 9i/10g/11g RAC and 10g/11g ASM
• Experience with the building, configuring, monitoring, and implementation of Oracle DataGuard technology.
• Good Database Programming experience in SQL and PLSQL
• Programming experience in building and parsing the XML files
• Experience in Data Migration tools and methodologies
• Expertise in managing Oracle databases in Linux/Solaris Environments
• Experience with UNIX shell scripting
• Strong RMAN backup/recovery experience on very large databases
• Strong skills in writing stored procedures/functions
• Hands-on experience with Oracle performance analysis using Statspack, SQL tracing, etc.
• Expert experience in troubleshooting and resolving urgent/critical incidents on production systems
• Experience with performing back-up and recovery for both application tablespaces and catalogue table spaces
• Comfortable with working in a rapidly changing, technically complex environment
• Proficiency with MS office product suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
• Excellent communication (both written and oral)

Our client has a requirement for Database Administrator / Level 2 for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Requirements

The services and deliverables to be provided will include the following:

• Install and configure Oracle databases for the IAR provincial solution and related components, in production, test and development environments.
• Implement required upgrades and changes in Oracle databases in all environments
• Maintain databases by monitoring performance, usage, optimizing configuration, executing update patches, running back-ups and providing on-going incident support
• Address all aspects of database administration including security, performance, recoverability, availability, integrity, reliability
• Perform database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization.
• Create and/or update database installation and maintenance documentation
• Perform application and system administration activities as required (e.g. Linux administration, creating users)
• Perform application and system deployment, configuration and other implementation support activities as required

Our client has a requirement for Informatica Developer for a 6 months Contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Requirement for clients Project Work and Staff Augmentation Assignments on a multiyear contract. Development work that is client-facing, and requires interaction with client stakeholders and Client team members to understand requirements, and adhere to SDLC phases and to perform well working with team members.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Consulting Expertise: Providing Consulting and Advisory Services to clients as an Oracle Subject Matter Expert with skills in ETL Tools, to implement these tools into the client’s current environment
• Initial work will be to provide analysis and recommendations on how to implement ETL tools in the client environment, then later perform development as noted below:
• Analysis skills: Analyzing Data feeds and interfaces from a wide variety of systems
• Designing development schema for data feed development, ETL feeds,
• Development of ETL feeds, stored procedures,
• PL/SQL development
• Ability to work within a changing environment
• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills
• Good presentation skills

Requirement or Qualifications:  

Required Level of Education:  

• Technical Diploma in IT with Equivalent Experience
• Oracle Certification (Optional) 

Must have technical skills:  

• Minimum 3-5 years experience in Oracle 10g or higher is required
• Highly skilled in ETL Tools (for example, Informatica) Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Plus, development of Stored procedures, Triggers, PL/SQL packages
• Expertise in writing technical designs, developing, unit testing, and break fix support of ETL and PL/SQL objects
• Familiarity with the user of version control tools (such as CVS, Dimensions)
• Skilled in performance tuning, analyzing query plans and query tuning, partitioning
• Fast learner, able to diagnose technical challenges through reading code and supporting technical documentation
• Team player with the ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) at all levels of the SDLC 

Nice to have technical skills:  

• Experience with Oracle database support and development (PL/SQL) Oracle 10g
• Writing and triaging stored procedures
• ETL tool experience      

Soft Skills:  

• Very well organized and detail orientated
• Able to multitask effectively
• Have excellent time management, task planning and prioritization skills

About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Programmer Analyst for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.


Requirements:

The Programmer Analyst is responsible for the design, coding, testing, and production implementation of high-quality application software solutions. The Programmer Analyst will work in a team environment to implement business requested enhancements or IT identified solutions.


Responsibilities:

•Design, develop, document, test, and implement new systems, and maintenance fixes and enhancements to business software
•Build solutions that satisfy business requirements

•Prepare and document development work effort estimates
•Perform system analysis and write detailed program specifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

•Minimum 5–10 years work experience in IT
•Extensive experience in application development with Oracle databases (PL/SQL, Stored Packages, Procedures and Functions, Triggers, Forms, Reports)
•In-depth experience performing analysis and tuning SQL queries using Explain Plan, SQL Optimizer and other tools for better efficiency
•UNIX Shell Scripting proficiency
•Adeptness at preparing ETL scripts to migrate data from flat files into database
•Client as well as Server side development experience
•Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
•Proficient English written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Strong customer focus
•Successful completion of medium to large size development or maintenance projects
•Knowledge of the traditional lifecycle for software development (SDLC)
•Good grasp of change management processes
•Experience gathering accurate requirements and translating them into precise documentation
