Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Demonstrated project experience as an E-forms Developer - 5 yrs in the past 8
• Demonstrated project experience in analysing, designing and developing electronic forms solutions for the internet/intranet including new forms development and enhancements to existing forms - 5 yrs in the past 8
• Demonstrated project experience gathering requirements from clients regarding new form development and enhancements to existing forms - 3 yrs in the past 8
• Demonstrated project experience in forms management including analysis, design, quality assurance, versioning, implementation and maintenance - 5 yrs in the past 8
• Demonstrated project experience in the development and implementation of electronic forms solutions using and LiveCycle ES Designer - 3 yrs in the past 8 yrs
• Demonstrated project experience developing PDF using JavaScript - 5 yrs in the past 8

• Experience with the various spectrum of e-forms development, Ideal candidate will have experience with “connected” forms. Forms at this level have full interactivity and intelligence thanks to connections with either a network or the Internet (or both). These connections allow the form to: apply rules that rely on external data (e.g. check that a requested business name isn't already registered); and submit data directly to a database.

About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Programmer Analyst for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.


Requirements:

The Programmer Analyst is responsible for the design, coding, testing, and production implementation of high-quality application software solutions. The Programmer Analyst will work in a team environment to implement business requested enhancements or IT identified solutions.


Responsibilities:

•Design, develop, document, test, and implement new systems, and maintenance fixes and enhancements to business software
•Build solutions that satisfy business requirements
•Work on multiple projects/assignments at a time
•Contribute to requirements gathering and high-level design
•Prepare and document development work effort estimates
•Perform system analysis and write detailed program specifications
•Conduct and participate in application design and code walkthroughs
•Prepare and document unit test scripts
•Conduct unit- and functional-level testing
•Document and prepare programs for promotion to QA and Production environments
•Provide production support and coordinate with users to address production issues
•Participate in status meetings as appropriate
•Work collaboratively with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Specialists, DBA, Project Managers, Architects and other IT professionals to deliver high-quality application solutions on time and budget
•Adhere to our companies application programming, testing, and application change control standards
•Other duties when assigned


Qualified Candidates will have:

•Minimum 5–10 years work experience in IT
•Extensive experience in application development with Oracle databases (PL/SQL, Stored Packages, Procedures and Functions, Triggers, Forms, Reports)
•In-depth experience performing analysis and tuning SQL queries using Explain Plan, SQL Optimizer and other tools for better efficiency
•UNIX Shell Scripting proficiency
•Adeptness at preparing ETL scripts to migrate data from flat files into database
•Client as well as Server side development experience
•Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
•Proficient English written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Strong customer focus
•Successful completion of medium to large size development or maintenance projects
•Knowledge of the traditional lifecycle for software development (SDLC)
•Good grasp of change management processes
•Experience gathering accurate requirements and translating them into precise documentation
•Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of productivity tools


Nice to have:

•Experience with TOAD
•Experience with other relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, DB2)
•IBM Mainframe development experience (OS/390 TSO, JCL, PL/1, IMS DB/DC, DB2, COBOL)
•Demonstrated experience with other development technologies e.g. web programming (C#, ASP.NET), Pro*C, MS Access/Excel VBA programming
•Experience with SAS programming language
•Basic knowledge of batch processing and a job scheduling tool (e.g. ESP)
•Knowledge of Quality Centre application, PVCS Version Control, Assyst support tool
•Retail business environment experience
