AIX Java Developer

Honda Canada Manufacturing (HCM) requires the services of a contract AIX Java developer. This is an immediate-fill, currently open position for a 6 month contract. This position is located in Barrie, Ontario.

  

Standard HCM requirements apply;

• fixed hours (7:30am to 4:00pm),
• frequent weekend and early morning support (overtime and scheduled), uniform
• outstanding written and verbal English communication skills

Skill set and experience requirements:

• 4-6 years experience in AIX Java application development.
• Familiarity with support of high profile, mission critical applications;
• This is near real-time manufacturing support

Must Haves:

• Strong Experience in the install, support, configuration and management of Business applications in AIX environment.
• Extensive programming experience in Java / J2EE, including Servlets, EJB 2.0, JPA, Struts, Spring, Java Messaging Service (JMS)
• Development of Browser-based Applications running on WebSphere Application Server (v6 or higher)
• Development of Java Swing Applications connecting to WebSphere Application Server (v6 or higher)
• Thorough understanding of DB2 Database or any other RDBMS
• Excellent knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Experience with HTML and JavaServer Pages (JSP), Extensible Markup Language (XML)
• Strong working knowledge in IDE Tool: Rational Application Developer (v7 or higher)
• Knowledge in Apache Ant build tool, Jenkins, Javascript and Remote Scripting
• Experience with Analytic/Systematic Thinking, Negotiating, Problem Solving, Documentation Creation, Decision Making, Quality Assurance,Teamwork and Cooperation
• Work with team members on architecture design and detailed technical design.
• Develop functional requirements and technical specifications.
• Define test plans and test cases for applications.

Wants:

• Experience with Change Management, Business Controls, Test Planning and Documentation, Risk Analysis and other essential IT processes
• Leverage best practices, methodologies, trends, tools and technologies for use in client projects
• Knowledge of Business Object Enterprise for Java (JRC - Java Reporting Component)
• Experience with revision control system such as Subversion (SVN)
• Solid knowledge of software development processes/models such as Agile.
• Strong experience in network socket programming
• Experience with a Real Time Production Environment and with PLC Device Control.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate will provide support on technical design and development focusing on federated identity and entitlement in a web services environment. You have a minimum of 5 years experience, in a Java Development role.

• Single Sign-On (SSO), Cryptography, JCA, JCE, PKI
• Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Entitlement Server, Oracle Virtual Directory, IBM DB2, Oracle RDBMS
• WS-Security, WS-Trust, WS-Policy, Build frameworks, Unit Testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of the health care industry is an asset
