Key Responsibilities

 SOMMAIRE DU POSTE

En guise de premier mandat chez notre client situé à Montréal, le candidat occupera le poste de programmeur/analyste au sein du Centre d'excellence en gestion des applications (Application Management Center of Excellence), afin de soutenir la mise en ligne en juin 2012 d'un nouveau portail SOA présentant des rapports aux participants et aux promoteurs du régime de retraite.

Le programmeur/analyste en chef fera éventuellement partie de la structure rotative de soutien d'applications. 

Le poste doit être doté immédiatement par un consultant qui aspire à occuper un poste permanent éventuel chez notre client. La durée du mandat initial est de 6 mois avec la possibilité que le poste devienne permanent à tout moment au cours de cette période.

RESPONSABILITÉS CLÉS

• Aider à définir la portée et les objectifs du programme par la recherche et des sondages.
• Participer à la mise en place d'environnements de test, de bibliothèques, d'outils, et autres éléments requis pour exécuter ses tâches.

ROLE SUMMARY

As a first mandate with Client in Montreal, the candidate will act as a Programmer/ Analyst, within the Application Management Center of Excellence, to support June 2012 release of a new SOA portal for Pension Plan sponsor and member reporting. The Senior Programmer/ Analyst would eventually be part of the rotating application support structure.  Position is to be filled immediately by a consultant who is seeking an eventual permanent position with Client.  Initial mandate will be for a period of 6 months with possibility becoming a permanent position anytime during that period.

KEY ACTIVITIES

• Participates in formulating program scope and objectives through research and fact-finding.
• Helps to set up testing environments, libraries, tools and other elements required to perform his/her duties.
• Prepares detailed specifications of medium complexity from which programs will be created or modified depending on complexity of application.
• Implements a set of specifications by coding, compiling and testing the applications.
• Develops and modifies program documentation for both users and Operations.
• Analyzes and reviews existing system and program logic problems as required.
• Takes an active part with user communities during testing of new or modified applications.
• Takes an active part with other IT specialists during development, test and debug activities.
• Is sometimes called upon to concentrate efforts on testing of applications depending on conditions.
• Is accountable to deliver quality results.
• Identifies and reports risks and weaknesses, applies operational controls to mitigate these risks.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, in particular the need to protect personal information of customers, intermediaries and employees.

Senior Software Developer - Server, Platform & Content

About the Job

Our client in the social gaming industry is looking for a committed and driven Senior Software Developer – Server, Platform and Content.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, maintain and support all software components of an interactive social gaming platform and backend reporting system, gaming platform development kit and integration to 3rd-party gaming or backend systems
• Collaborate with a team of software developers
• Conduct feature requirement discussions and development estimations for both platform and gaming features
• Provide development support to internal and external content development teams
• Provide platform development support to the QC Testing team
• Provide resolution to defects and investigate and resolve production support incidents
• Build, modify and maintain deployment packages and automated unit test scripts
• Create, modify and maintain automated build scripts
• Collaborate with internal or external software development outsourcing teams
• Recommend improvement to development, integration and support practices and processes
• Apply configuration management, version control, best practices and standards
• Assist in the management of test equipment and testing tools
• Communicate effectively with teams in different countries and time zones

Requirements or Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• Extensive experience in architecting, designing and developing highly scalable client/server software with C++ and Java
• Strong Component & N-tier Architecture, excellent Object Oriented design and programming skills (SOA, Web Services, XML)
• Expert at designing and developing multi-threading server systems for high performance, reliability and scalability
• Strong network and socket programming skills over TCP/IP & UDP protocols
• Minimum 8 years of experience developing highly scalable enterprise or commercial client/server and web solutions using Java, J2EE, J2SE, J2ME, JBOSS
• Minimum 8 years in development of web and mobile web applications (PHP, Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, HTML5), web services, web application, database (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Minimum 8 years in development of highly scalable client/server applications (Windows, Linux, CentOS)
• Minimum 4 years of experience developing highly scalable enterprise or commercial client/server solutions using C++/Windows (MS Visual Studio)
• Strong experience in developing multi-player gaming applications will be an asset
• Experience with rich media content or game development for a game or multimedia software developer or publisher is a plus (C++/DirectX/Direct3D/DirectSound/Bink/FM Audio)
• Cross-platform mobile development experience is a plus (eg. iPhone, Android, RIM Blackberry, other Smart Phones, XNA framework)
• Experience designing and developing IVR applications is a plus
