The Uniface Developer is responsible for:

• Design, development and implementation of computer system improvements in the client’s application.

• Develop utilities, procedures, and documentation upon customer requirements.

Requirement or Qualifications:

It is important that the Services be undertaken by a Uniface Developer who can demonstrate specific knowledge of, and experience in performing similar work for projects of comparable nature, size and scope as detailed below.

• University degree in computer science or related discipline, and considerable years of 'progressively more responsible' experience working on large-scale information technology projects or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Considerable experience in Uniface application development and deployment platform for enterprise applications with the ability to generate application development and deployment system documentation, standards and procedures.
• Considerable software development experience in Oracle PL/SQL, client server, graphical user interfaces, Windows technologies and Large Scale, enterprise wide applications.
• Considerable experience in and knowledge of current and emerging Uniface-based concepts/technologies including Uniface services, middle-ware, management, component based design, business/data modelling methodologies, information management, business intelligence and decision support for a multiple-tiered, multiple-platform, network centric computing environment.
• Considerable experience and usage of SDLC methodology, standards and documentation.
• Considerable experience preparing and presenting technical materials, including standards, procedures, and technical specifications to all levels of management and staff.
• Considerable experience in technical writing.
• Considerable experience in system integration testing.
• Performed this role on multiple (3-4) large projects with a track record of success.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Technical Capabilities:

• Considerable experience designing, developing and implementing Uniface-based enterprise systems including Uniface web services.
• Extensive experience programming using Uniface 9.4x or later.
• Extensive experience developing applications using Oracle relational database technologies, such as Oracle 10g or Oracle 11g.
• Uniface integration experience utilizing middle-ware solutions, such as Software AG webMethods and mobile computing solutions, such as, FieldWorker Mobile Technology Solutions or others.
• Knowledge of business requirement gathering techniques and solution design documentation standards such as UML and considerable and specific experiences leading and writing business requirements and technical specifications.

Deliverables:

• Prepare Technical Architecture Document.
• Prepare Detailed Program Specifications.
• Prepare application framework Design, code, implement and support application.
• Lead junior information technology resources.
• 5+ years of Program Management or lead solution development experience.
• An MBA, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• A technical or information systems focused undergraduate degree is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to communicate the importance of projects to the technology teams, as well as to understand the technology sufficiently to communicate the complexity in simple terms for the business.

 SOMMAIRE DU POSTE

En guise de premier mandat chez notre client situé à Montréal, le candidat occupera le poste de programmeur/analyste au sein du Centre d'excellence en gestion des applications (Application Management Center of Excellence), afin de soutenir la mise en ligne en juin 2012 d'un nouveau portail SOA présentant des rapports aux participants et aux promoteurs du régime de retraite.

Le programmeur/analyste en chef fera éventuellement partie de la structure rotative de soutien d'applications. 

Le poste doit être doté immédiatement par un consultant qui aspire à occuper un poste permanent éventuel chez notre client. La durée du mandat initial est de 6 mois avec la possibilité que le poste devienne permanent à tout moment au cours de cette période.

RESPONSABILITÉS CLÉS

• Aider à définir la portée et les objectifs du programme par la recherche et des sondages.
• Participer à la mise en place d'environnements de test, de bibliothèques, d'outils, et autres éléments requis pour exécuter ses tâches.
• Préparer des spécifications détaillées de complexité moyenne à partir desquelles les programmes seront créés ou modifiés en fonction de la complexité de l'application.
• Mettre en œuvre un ensemble de spécifications en codant, compilant et testant les applications.
• Développer et modifier la documentation propre au programme qui est destinée aux utilisateurs et aux Opérations.
• Analyser et passer en revue les problèmes logiques du programme et du système existants, le cas échéant.
• Faire partie intégrante des communautés d'utilisateurs au cours des tests des nouvelles applications ou des applications modifiées.
• Collaborer activement avec les autres spécialistes en TI aux activités de développement, de test et de débogage.
• À l'occasion, participer activement aux tests des applications selon les conditions.
• Responsable de fournir des résultats de qualité.
• Identifier les risques et les faiblesses et en faire rapport, et appliquer les contrôles opérationnels permettant de minimiser lesdits risques.
• Assurer la conformité aux exigences réglementaires et aux politiques internes, et plus particulièrement la protection des renseignements personnels des clients, des intermédiaires et des employés.

EXIGENCES : (formation et certification)

• Diplôme universitaire (ou expérience de travail équivalente)
• Minimum de 2 années d’expérience en applications Web

ROLE SUMMARY

As a first mandate with Client in Montreal, the candidate will act as a Programmer/ Analyst, within the Application Management Center of Excellence, to support June 2012 release of a new SOA portal for Pension Plan sponsor and member reporting. The Senior Programmer/ Analyst would eventually be part of the rotating application support structure.  Position is to be filled immediately by a consultant who is seeking an eventual permanent position with Client.  Initial mandate will be for a period of 6 months with possibility becoming a permanent position anytime during that period.

KEY ACTIVITIES

• Participates in formulating program scope and objectives through research and fact-finding.
• Helps to set up testing environments, libraries, tools and other elements required to perform his/her duties.
• Prepares detailed specifications of medium complexity from which programs will be created or modified depending on complexity of application.
• Implements a set of specifications by coding, compiling and testing the applications.
• Develops and modifies program documentation for both users and Operations.
• Analyzes and reviews existing system and program logic problems as required.
• Takes an active part with user communities during testing of new or modified applications.
• Takes an active part with other IT specialists during development, test and debug activities.
• Is sometimes called upon to concentrate efforts on testing of applications depending on conditions.
• Is accountable to deliver quality results.
• Identifies and reports risks and weaknesses, applies operational controls to mitigate these risks.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, in particular the need to protect personal information of customers, intermediaries and employees.

REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Designation)

• University degree (or equivalent real-life experience)
• Minimum of 2 years in working on web applications
