AIX Java Developer

Honda Canada Manufacturing (HCM) requires the services of a contract AIX Java developer. This is an immediate-fill, currently open position for a 6 month contract. This position is located in Barrie, Ontario.

  

Standard HCM requirements apply;

• fixed hours (7:30am to 4:00pm),
• frequent weekend and early morning support (overtime and scheduled), uniform
• outstanding written and verbal English communication skills

Skill set and experience requirements:

• 4-6 years experience in AIX Java application development.
• Familiarity with support of high profile, mission critical applications;
• This is near real-time manufacturing support

Must Haves:

• Strong Experience in the install, support, configuration and management of Business applications in AIX environment.
• Extensive programming experience in Java / J2EE, including Servlets, EJB 2.0, JPA, Struts, Spring, Java Messaging Service (JMS)
• Development of Browser-based Applications running on WebSphere Application Server (v6 or higher)
• Development of Java Swing Applications connecting to WebSphere Application Server (v6 or higher)
• Thorough understanding of DB2 Database or any other RDBMS
• Excellent knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Experience with HTML and JavaServer Pages (JSP), Extensible Markup Language (XML)
• Strong working knowledge in IDE Tool: Rational Application Developer (v7 or higher)
• Knowledge in Apache Ant build tool, Jenkins, Javascript and Remote Scripting
• Experience with Analytic/Systematic Thinking, Negotiating, Problem Solving, Documentation Creation, Decision Making, Quality Assurance,Teamwork and Cooperation
• Work with team members on architecture design and detailed technical design.
• Develop functional requirements and technical specifications.
• Define test plans and test cases for applications.

Role:

The incumbent will work within the change management guidelines to install, configure, deploy, and support WESB and DataPower systems within DEV, SYS, PAT, and Production environments. Provide warranty period support for new application / system deployments.

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the following;

·         Build and deploy DataPower and WESB based infrastructures with an emphasis on DataPower web service mediations – in support of SOA based business solutions

• Applied experience in deploying configuring and troubleshooting application (mediation) within WebSphere Enterprise Service BUS
• Applied experience with XML technologies including: XML, XSDs, XSLT and related tools
• Engage in business projects to configure, troubleshoot and deploy business web services within DataPower and WESB
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise in the ESB infrastructure (environment, hardware, performance, etc…)
• Working knowledge of SSL technologies including configuring SSL, AAA/SSL mutual authentication
• Excellent UNIX (AIX preferred) experience
• Ability to ask probing questions to understand the various concepts presented/discussed
• Some project management and negotiation experience would be an asset.
• Implementing infrastructure, configuring run times to support these technologies
• Diagnosing problems and resolving these challenges
• Must have strong understanding and experience with creating process flow
• The incumbent will be interacting with both internal and external technical community
• Must have experience from an enterprise-level environment
• System capacity planning and maintenance is a key aspect of this role.

We are currently seeking a Senior Level Sharepoint professional – to provide Unix and Windows test environments and support for e-business applications. Gathering and analyzing project requirements for the creation and support of distributed test environments on AIX and Windows platforms. Work closely with project managers, CTS, TDCT, TDWM, TDSI user communities and other partners to ensure the successful implementation of products/changes into the production environment.


Responsibilities will include:

Gathering and analyzing project requirements
Identifying, estimating and tracking TEM-D deliverables required for a project
Preparation of and deploying WebSphere and Windows Applications
Code management in the 'locked down' environment for system testing
Trouble shooting problems (such as environment, hardware, WebSphere, performance, etc)
Creating and maintaining documentation in support of TEM-D infrastructure
Maintaining and analyzing development server performance
Coordinating and scheduling environment upgrades
Building and managing working relationships with external vendors
Team Technical lead on medium to large scale projects
System capacity planning and maintenance is a key aspect of this role.
Proactive maintenance.
In addition, the candidate will provide consultation and analysis to identify process improvements that will reduce test time and cost as well as improve quality, accuracy and efficiency.
