Accountabilities:

• Management, maintenance and delivery of Microsoft Windows Server and VMWare ESX infrastructure supporting the Company's business systems.
• Assist and/or lead in the management and delivery of Microsoft and Blackberry messaging and collaboration server platforms.
• Assist and/or lead in the management and delivery of Microsoft IIS and IBM WebSphere web services.
• Participation (leader and/or shared) in technical project implementations.
• Incident and problem solving of complex technical issues, including flexible and on-call after hours support for critical systems.
• Technical design and project documentation.
• Development, collection, and analysis of system/service performance metrics.
• Continuous improvement of the infrastructure through rationalization, optimization, standardization, and simplification.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years in a similar IT role
• Platform (Wintel) - Strong-to-expert knowledge of Windows server platforms including Server 2003/2008.
• Virtualization - Strong-to-expert knowledge of VMWare ESX platform
• Platform Management & Automation - Strong knowledge of industry standard platform management and automation utilities, eg. Microsoft SCOM, Altiris, CA, BMC Patrol, etc
• Directory Services, Collaboration & Messaging - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange (all versions) and Active Directory (2003/08).  Strong knowledge of Microsoft collaboration technology including SharePoint.  Experience with OCS/Lync 2007 a strong asset.
• Internet Services - Strong knowledge of Microsoft IIS and/or IBM WebSphere.
• Databases - Working-to-strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2000-2008 technologies - particularly from an operations and implementation perspective.
• Networking & Storage - Strong knowledge of Microsoft networking technologies, TCP/IP, and core security.  Working knowledge of the design and administration of Storage and backup technologies including SAN, NAS, nearline, tape backup, etc.
• Education - Technical/computer related diploma and/or related industry experience. 
• Technical Certification - Certification and/or accreditation of above listed core technologies a strong asset.  Core certification should include a MCSE / MCSA 2003/2008.  ITIL foundations a strong asset

AIX Java Developer

Honda Canada Manufacturing (HCM) requires the services of a contract AIX Java developer. This is an immediate-fill, currently open position for a 6 month contract. This position is located in Barrie, Ontario.

  

Standard HCM requirements apply;

• fixed hours (7:30am to 4:00pm),

Skill set and experience requirements:

• 4-6 years experience in AIX Java application development.

Must Haves:

Job Description

TITLE: Application Developer (FT Permanent)

REPORTING TO: Director of Information Services

LOCATION: Support Center, Burlington, ON 

REQUIREMENTS: 

• 3+ years of comparable previous experience
• Good command of English language
• Able to work independently in a RAD environment

Desktop Development:

• Strong VB6 programming/debugging skills required to maintain existing code in VB6 consisting of; user forms, MS SQL/MySQL DB manipulation usingADO, file I/O etc...
• Current development platform is VB.NET and C#.Net
• User Forms, DB Manipulation, using datasets, writing classes.
• Some use of third-party components for functions such as SSH tunnelling and SFTP.
• Some ASP.NET is required

Web Development Skills:

• Classic ASP - Scripting using vbscript (vb6).
• Heavy use of user forms and database interaction usingADO
• HTML - Intermediate to expert knowledge. Must understand DOM model (Majority of our web apps interface with the HTML DOM using javascript to make pages more dynamic)
• CSS - Intermediate knowledge. Should understand how to use basic css, and be comfortable with display, positioning, floats. CSS will be targeting IE version 8 and above on an intranet.
• Javascript - Very strong javascript skills. Must be comfortable with javascript and DOM manipulation using javascript.  Majority of our web apps are heavily javascript-driven,
• UsingAJAXin both plain javascript and jQuery.
• Basic PHP knowledge

Databases:

• MS SQL/MySQL - Advanced level SQL query knowledge is required.
• Should be very comfortable with Inner and outer joins, as well as Group by and subqueries.
