About the Job

The primary purpose of this role is to plan, implement, and support the client workstation infrastructure, including problem identification and resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate problem resolution by reviewing open trouble tickets, gathering additional information, updating tickets with current information, proactively noting status to customers, and driving the resolution process
  • Provide task management and technical support for special projects as directed by Client Support Lead
  • Support day to day operations for workstation projects such as MACs
  • Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
Requirements or Qualifications 
  • 5 or more years of hands on experience with PC/Windows, Windows NT/200x Server, Active Directory, MS Office, MS Exchange and strong background in troubleshooting and supporting desktop issues
  • Understanding of basic Local Area Network (LAN), TCP/IP and general networking concepts
  • Demonstration of knowledge in basic project management
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities; ability to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously

Qualified Candidates will have:

•University degree or equivalent
•PMP certification
•Minimum of 7 years experience managing medium to large sized, complex Business Intelligence projects from strategy to implementation using a disciplined approach to project management
•Experience building and delivering large data warehouse and analytical and operational reporting solutions
•Experience delivering Cognos Reporting solutions
•Ability to manage at least three or more projects simultaneously
•Demonstrated PM competencies: budget and time line management, scope management, risk management, issues management, timely decision making, effective team building, ability to prioritize and delegate appropriately and deal with changing priorities
•Experienced in Project Management methodologies and the ability to apply them in a flexible manner in various situations, particularly package implementations.
•Experience with iterative development methodology an asset
•Knowledge of Client environment and inter-related business units a definite asset

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Team Leader, the incumbent responds to telephone and email inquiries from stores and customers regarding store level marketing and customer programs, marketing related issues, rewards issues and other customer service related activities. About the Job

Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for Account Technology Specialist for a 1-12 months contract opportunity. The positions are located in Mississauga.


Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

Timeline of the assignment: Start ASAP, end June 30th with intent is to extend until July 2012. The only reason that the manager cannot say for sure is that the budget is not yet finalized. Standard working hours: from 9:00-5:00 (flexibility within reason).

Interviews: Two of the manager’s direct reports will interview first and if both agree that the candidate should proceed forward, the manager will conduct the final interview.

Travel: Approximately 20% travel requirement (there are clients in the west, Montreal, etc.)

Budget: Work within rate card


High level responsibilities:

•Providing pre-sales technical support to hosters and telcos. Especially working with private cloud hosted opportunities. SharePoint and Exchange products primarily.


Day to day tasks:

•Support sales team, business development PAMs, working with partners on licensing, etc.

•Example: A customer has hosted exchange running in 2007 and are looking to move to 2010 and add SharePoint – this person will explain how/why to do it, acting as a trusted advisor, helping the customer to understand technology benefits and how to implement it.

•Working with technical decision makers, all the way up to C level.
•Supporting the business development and sales team on opportunities that they are driving (primarily private cloud, hosting, public cloud, exchange, windows and SQL).


Culture of team: Organic, flexible, all sales people, so driven by customer needs and demands. They are collaborative with a lot of cross team interaction (dependent upon other teams such as solution specialists, etc). Everyone is pretty laid back unless in hot pursuit (deal closing stage). There are peaks and valleys of activity. When on a down slope, they use the time to ramp up and develop.


Qualifications:


Must have skills:

•Required: 4-5 years relevant experience (hosting is best, telco will work)
•Education: University degree
•Knowledge of product, technical aptitude, ability to work with clients (at least 2 of 3)
•200-300 level in SharePoint, Exchange, Windows, SQL, especially in a hosted environment
•Ability to work with people – the person should have good disposition and be able to handle all stakeholders
•Must be comfortable in front of customer
•Good communication skills


Nice to have skills:

•Licensing experience

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

1.Respond to telephone calls, e-mails, voicemails and drop-bys for technical support in a timely manner.
2.Document, log and track all calls, e-mails, voicemails and drop-bys using case management software.
3.Manage escalation and retain problem ownership (track call, remote control, research and update knowledgebase).
4.Identify research, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems on any related application, hardware or communication requirements.
5.Provide one-on-one training to end users for specific hardware and software issues.
6.Occasional external client support when issues arise with documents received from clients or issues with email.
7.Escalate and liaise with other IT teams to resolve problems.
8.Install, configure and test applications.
9.Review new applications and upgrades and identify potential problems.
10.Assist in the development of Organization produced application manuals by providing “hands on” technical verification of the documentation and procedures.
11.Contribute to and help maintain knowledge base tool.
12.Review support issues and procedures and recommend solutions (trend analysis).
13.Participate in interdepartmental project teams.
14.Manage requests for loaner notebooks and other equipment including setup and testing.
15.Refresh PC’s as needed.
16.Occasionally communicate with 3rd party vendors to resolve application and hardware error issues when necessary.
17.Direct end users to appropriate self support tools and/or handouts.
18.Provide remote access (home) telephone support.
19.Flexible work hours during the week, weekends and statutory holidays.


Qualifications:

1.Diploma in Computer Systems, Systems Administration, or related technical discipline.
2.A minimum of 3 years work experience as a Support Representative is preferred but must have some previous work experience.
3.PC, Laptop, Scanner and Printer hardware troubleshooting experience.
4.Software troubleshooting experience needed including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Office 2003, Outlook 2007, Windows XP, Vista and a document management system.
5.Professional Services experience an asset.


Required Skills:

1.Good analytical problem solving skills; ability to troubleshoot and resolve application problems.
2.Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and telephone manners. Must be able to correspond with lawyers and staff as well as create end user documentation.

Overview

Within Client’s IT, the Information Management Business Analyst leads and manages all project work related to business requirements and solution design throughout the life cycle of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Projects. This includes initial requirements elicitation, translating requirements to high level design and ensuring development, testing, and implementation activities align with requirements. During post-implementation, the Information Management Business Analyst verifies that requirements and business objectives have been met.


As the primary bridge between business and technology, the Information Management Business Analyst is the key facilitator in translating business requirements to the delivered solution. He/she understands the language and needs of both communities – forging a shared understanding of what is required on both sides and establishing a climate of cross-functional collaboration.


In partnership, the Information Management Business Analyst and Project Manager lead the work effort. While the Project Manager’s focus is timeline and cost constraints, the Information Management Business Analyst concentrates on solution quality and value. That is, ensuring that the final product satisfies business goals and functions as required.


Responsibilities

•Work with Project Manager/Project Sponsor to clarify the solution’s vision and project scope. The primary focus will be supporting Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing (DW) initiatives
•Identify project stakeholders for requirements elicitation and plan timing and deliverables of the work
•Elicit requirements using a variety of methods – workshops, interviews, storyboarding, process modeling etc.
•Prepare and deliver demos for business clients that will feature how data and information can be delivered through operational and analytical reporting solutions and tools.
•Document requirements specifications according to standard templates using simple, clear, concise language
•Define quality attributes, interfaces, constraints and other non-functional requirements
•Represent requirements using alternate views - analysis models (diagrams), use cases, prototypes as appropriate for the initiative.
•Investigate and analysis data sources to support the identification of required source files / tables to support BI/DW requirements.
•Support the Solution Architect in the defining the high level solution showing sources, targets and reporting objects
•Determine and document source to target transformation rules for BI/DW data integration
•Support the determination of BI reporting layouts and ad-hoc reporting requirements
•Lead, create and manage the high level design process, creating a high level design package for BI/DW solutions including both process and system solutions (including anticipated target data volumes, data integration high level job scheduling requirements and error handling functionality)
•Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring requirements are complete, concise traceable and testable
•Lead requirements prioritization effort with the business and technology groups
•Lead peer reviews and inspection of requirements documents
•Lead the technical analysis for current state and future state as well as impact analysis, interface analysis and system analysis.
•Manage requirements traceability and track requirements throughout project life cycle
•Support the business during User Acceptance Testing
•Manage requirements change through a formal change control process
•Establish best requirements practices with a focus on continuous improvement
•Establish means of reusing requirements and other analytical artefacts for concurrent or future projects
•Review detailed designs to ensure requirements are comprehensively accounted for
•Coach and guide other Business Analysts within Information Management


QUALIFICATIONS:

•University Degree or equivalent
•Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in a BI/DW Business Analyst role in a project based environment
•3 to 5 years experience supporting IBM Cognos BI projects
•Experience with Cognos and Crystal reporting tools is an asset
•Superior ability to analyze data to understand data scenarios and identify transformation rules utilizing query tools
•Experience utilising querying tools to query various data sources and targets
•Business acumen in the supply chain, logistics, marketing and retail areas
•Fluent in technology and strong knowledge of software development methodologies/techniques
•Strong analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills
•Superior communication skills - written and oral
•Superior facilitation/presentation skills to effectively lead requirements elicitation workshops

Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for Business Analyst for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position islocated in Toronto.

Overview


Within Client’s IT, the Information Management Business Analyst leads and manages all project work related to business requirements and solution design throughout the life cycle of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Projects. This includes initial requirements elicitation, translating requirements to high level design and ensuring development, testing, and implementation activities align with requirements. During post-implementation, the Information Management Business Analyst verifies that requirements and business objectives have been met.


As the primary bridge between business and technology, the Information Management Business Analyst is the key facilitator in translating business requirements to the delivered solution. He/she understands the language and needs of both communities – forging a shared understanding of what is required on both sides and establishing a climate of cross-functional collaboration.


In partnership, the Information Management Business Analyst and Project Manager lead the work effort. While the Project Manager’s focus is timeline and cost constraints, the Information Management Business Analyst concentrates on solution quality and value. That is, ensuring that the final product satisfies business goals and functions as required.


Responsibilities

•Work with Project Manager/Project Sponsor to clarify the solution’s vision and project scope. The primary focus will be supporting Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing (DW) initiatives
•Identify project stakeholders for requirements elicitation and plan timing and deliverables of the work
•Elicit requirements using a variety of methods – workshops, interviews, storyboarding, process modeling etc.
•Prepare and deliver demos for business clients that will feature how data and information can be delivered through operational and analytical reporting solutions and tools.
•Document requirements specifications according to standard templates using simple, clear, concise language
•Define quality attributes, interfaces, constraints and other non-functional requirements
•Represent requirements using alternate views - analysis models (diagrams), use cases, prototypes as appropriate for the initiative.
•Investigate and analysis data sources to support the identification of required source files / tables to support BI/DW requirements.
•Support the Solution Architect in the defining the high level solution showing sources, targets and reporting objects
•Determine and document source to target transformation rules for BI/DW data integration
•Support the determination of BI reporting layouts and ad-hoc reporting requirements
•Lead, create and manage the high level design process, creating a high level design package for BI/DW solutions including both process and system solutions (including anticipated target data volumes, data integration high level job scheduling requirements and error handling functionality)
•Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring requirements are complete, concise traceable and testable
•Lead requirements prioritization effort with the business and technology groups
•Lead peer reviews and inspection of requirements documents
•Lead the technical analysis for current state and future state as well as impact analysis, interface analysis and system analysis.
•Manage requirements traceability and track requirements throughout project life cycle
•Support the business during User Acceptance Testing
•Manage requirements change through a formal change control process
•Establish best requirements practices with a focus on continuous improvement
•Establish means of reusing requirements and other analytical artefacts for concurrent or future projects
•Review detailed designs to ensure requirements are comprehensively accounted for
•Coach and guide other Business Analysts within Information Management


QUALIFICATIONS:

•University Degree or equivalent
•Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in a BI/DW Business Analyst role in a project based environment
•3 to 5 years experience supporting IBM Cognos BI projects
•Experience with Cognos and Crystal reporting tools is an asset
•Superior ability to analyze data to understand data scenarios and identify transformation rules utilizing query tools
•Experience utilising querying tools to query various data sources and targets
•Business acumen in the supply chain, logistics, marketing and retail areas
•Fluent in technology and strong knowledge of software development methodologies/techniques
•Strong analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills
•Superior communication skills - written and oral
•Superior facilitation/presentation skills to effectively lead requirements elicitation workshops
•Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict-management skills
•Knowledge of Client environment and inter-related business units an asset
•Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time and under tight deadlines
•Ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion and simplify complex situations
•Knowledge and interest in industry best practices regarding requirements definition and management
