Role

The Business Technology Service (BTS) Division within our client is seeking a Portal Developer with Alphinat expertise to help lead the Design/ Development activities for eServices Portal project. This role will provide detailed design, development, test and support activities including understanding and translating client business requirements into functional and technical documentation. Resource will interact with teams working on different IT systems to understand their integration points, and do design and development to accomplish integration with such systems.

Responsibilities

• Development of Alphinat portlets using Smartguide which can be plugged in eServices Portal’s proposed design.
• Integration of Alphinat portlets with GW web services to pull/push information
• Participate and coordinate discussions between the customer and the GW Infrastructure teams for the configuration and setup of the platform definition for the production environment.
• Make use of standard APIs or other integration mechanisms to transmit data from, extract data from, push data to, or pull data into the Guidewire application. Prepare/review SDLC deliverables to ensure they meet project objectives.
• Coding, testing and deploying software according to the specific requirements and deliverables.
• Develop new/modify existing data models and/or application logic in order to implement new business processes or to correct/enhance existing applications
• Handle complex programming assignments involving integration with third party hardware/software applications
• Interface and coordinate with other teams whenever required
• Developing / updating build books and configuration guides
• Providing knowledge transfer to client’s staff
• Following Kan-Ban methodology

 

Must Have

• Experience with ADF application implementations and Portlet/Inter portlet communications
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience with ADF application implementations or J2EE platform and Portlet/Inter portlet communications
• 2-3 Yrs experience with Alphinat rapid application development tools like SmartGuide to help build rapid prototypes and working applications.
• Must have strong working knowledge and experience with Web Center SPACES
• Strong Object Oriented implementation skills using Java and J2EE (JDBC, XML)
• Proven experience with core platform technologies SQL, Javascript, CSS, HTML
• Ability to resolve critical project issues by working effectively with Oracle support and Client’s technical team
• Ability to lead technical team and present best practices/point of view effectively
• Experience in developing / implementing test strategies (Module-, Integration- User-Acceptance and Stress-Test).

 

Nice to Have

• 2-3 Yrs experience with developing Web Services on Guidewire application to integrate with other web applications
• Experience designing, developing and delivering applications using Oracle WebCenter Interaction Portal
• Agile/Kanban project delivery methodology experience, including leading Standup/SCRUM sessions with project teams
• Ability to interact and collaborate with other IT teams including application development, testing, operations, security and compliance and project management office as well as business customers and external vendors
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

The Uniface Developer is responsible for:

• Design, development and implementation of computer system improvements in the client’s application.

It is important that the Services be undertaken by a Uniface Developer who can demonstrate specific knowledge of, and experience in performing similar work for projects of comparable nature, size and scope as detailed below.

• University degree in computer science or related discipline, and considerable years of 'progressively more responsible' experience working on large-scale information technology projects or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Considerable experience in Uniface application development and deployment platform for enterprise applications with the ability to generate application development and deployment system documentation, standards and procedures.
• Considerable software development experience in Oracle PL/SQL, client server, graphical user interfaces, Windows technologies and Large Scale, enterprise wide applications.
• Considerable experience in and knowledge of current and emerging Uniface-based concepts/technologies including Uniface services, middle-ware, management, component based design, business/data modelling methodologies, information management, business intelligence and decision support for a multiple-tiered, multiple-platform, network centric computing environment.
• Considerable experience and usage of SDLC methodology, standards and documentation.
• Considerable experience preparing and presenting technical materials, including standards, procedures, and technical specifications to all levels of management and staff.
• Considerable experience in technical writing.
• Considerable experience in system integration testing.
• Performed this role on multiple (3-4) large projects with a track record of success.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Technical Capabilities:

• Considerable experience designing, developing and implementing Uniface-based enterprise systems including Uniface web services.
• Extensive experience programming using Uniface 9.4x or later.
• Extensive experience developing applications using Oracle relational database technologies, such as Oracle 10g or Oracle 11g.
• Uniface integration experience utilizing middle-ware solutions, such as Software AG webMethods and mobile computing solutions, such as, FieldWorker Mobile Technology Solutions or others.
• Knowledge of business requirement gathering techniques and solution design documentation standards such as UML and considerable and specific experiences leading and writing business requirements and technical specifications.

Deliverables:

• Prepare Technical Architecture Document.
• Prepare Detailed Program Specifications.
• Prepare application framework Design, code, implement and support application.
• Lead junior information technology resources.
• 5+ years of Program Management or lead solution development experience.
• An MBA, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• A technical or information systems focused undergraduate degree is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to communicate the importance of projects to the technology teams, as well as to understand the technology sufficiently to communicate the complexity in simple terms for the business.
• Attention to detail and good analytic skills are important.
