Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for Quality Management Specialist for a 6 months renewable contract opportunity. The position is located in Calgary.
This role is for a Senior Quality Management Specialist to take on the end-to-end testing of an off-shore developed application. The quality management specialist would be the only resource on the team tasked with these duties (it is not a team of QA resources to manage). The responsibilities include:
- Creation and execution of the test plan
- Creation of manual use case/test scripts to be developed with an understanding that business requirements may have gaps
- Creation of automated functional tests
- Identifying the severity and tracking of all identified issues in TFS
- Ensuring issues are resolved by the development team in a timely manner
- Working with the business to identify the user acceptance test plan and negotiating move to production based on severity of bugs remaining.
- Documenting the results of testing and producing summary level for business acceptance

Other:
Request to have an understanding of business requirements is due to a sense that the business requirements/design phase of the project was not as robust as it needed to be. The successful candidate would need to start test planning based on this understanding and develop the test scripts with an approach to overcome the possibility of business requirement shortcomings.
This role requires very good verbal and written communication skills. There will be a significant amount of face to face interface with the business stakeholders
Performance Expectations:
Quality management specialist would need to define the Quality expectations for the project to assist in the management of the vendor delivered product.
