Project Manager

Zylog Systems (Canada) Ltd. is currently seeking a Project Manager. This role is multi-faceted, not only requiring project management duties, but also a significant focus on both business analysis and proposal writing.  The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of planning, monitoring, implementing and controlling processes associated with assigned projects, including the management of teams which may be formed to deliver projects on time and budget, working with key internal and external clients, stakeholders and partners, and building the company’s ability to grow its project management capability. The Project Manager’s duties must be performed consistent with company mission and values and in adherence to company policies and procedures, ISO Standards, and legislative requirements.


Specific Responsibilities & Primary Duties:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, co-ordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects; be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements; providing guidance to clients and managing clients’ expectations; and translating requirements into development specifications.  In addition, the Project Manager will be responsible for creating high quality, professional, accurate proposal documentation.  Other key responsibilities include:

·         Work with sales and delivery teams to seek out new business opportunities.
·         Integrate technology, people, and process streams of work on a project.
·         Manage, motivate and lead a project team comprised of both business and IT resources.
·         Prepare and deliver executive presentations and facilitate workshops.
·         Maintain open lines of communication between groups/functional areas/team members.
·         Mentor project team resources by providing feedback and coaching.
·         Lead and drive discussions to gather business and functional requirements for projects.
·         Analyze and document business and functional requirements for projects.
·         Actively participate in end-user support including User Acceptance Testing.
·         Develop and deliver training to staff as necessary to support project delivery.
·         Manage multiple proposals to specified deadlines, deliverables, and budgets.
·         Coordinate all aspects of the creation and submission of proposals, managing multiple cross-functional teams toward successful proposal completion:
·         technical and pricing components for bids
·         drafting of proposal documents
·         risk management
·         communications management
·         reviews with company management
·         status updates, etc.
·         Research and evaluate new technologies specific to proposal management.
·         Identify and schedule proposal deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
·         Adhere to standards and procedures for proposal reporting and documentation.
·         Review status reports and modify schedules and plans as required.
·         Contribute to the development of business processes and procedures that ensure proposal  
·         work meets all bid activity requirements.
·         Develop and maintain technical and administrative documentation for proposals


Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
The Project Manager will have:

·         A Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Business Management or a related field
·         A minimum of 5 to 7 years of IT Project Management
·         Prior experience in coordinating proposal efforts, preferably for high tech companies; knowledge of the government proposal environment
·         Experience managing multiple business/technology projects from strategy to implementation using a disciplined approach to project management
·         Ability to prioritize and delegate appropriately and deal with changing priorities and tight deadlines
·         Ability to comprehend and articulate technical concepts in easily understood terms
·         Experience in System Development and Project Management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall and RUP, with the ability to apply them in a flexible manner based on project requirements
·         A minimum of 2 years experience in the analysis and documentation of business and functional requirements for projects
·         2 - 4 years experience performing the business analysis function.
·         Knowledge of object oriented design and use of USE cases in business requirements
·         Excellent people management skills
·         Experience working with, leading and managing teams
·         Executive presence, including strong presentation and facilitation skills
·         Full proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, MS Project and other PM tools required.
·         Preferably a PMP designation or advanced progress in achieving certification
·         Ability to travel as required.

Key Responsibilities

Deliverables :
•Responsible for the integrated assessment record (IAR) technical infrastructure including the support of technical implementations, application support, environment support and interaction with the Health Information Network Providers.
•Support the internal CCIM IAR environments including multiple development environments, system integration testing environments and user acceptance environments.
•Tier 2 support for IAR related technical issues
•Work closely with other IAR resources to define and or refine requirements for improvements to the application
•Support technology relationship with outsourced application hosting vendors, development partner and/or technology vendor(s)
•Execute new deployments and upgrades of the IAR
•Create supporting documentation including build books, run books, deployment guides and other operations processes as required.
•Support the complete life cycle of the IAR - maintenance, monitoring and patching in accordance with CCIM policy and procedure
•Participate in change advisory boards at the three HINPs (hosting the IAR production environment) and CCIM
•Troubleshoot technical issues
•Escalate IAR system errors to vendors and ensure timely fixes are provided and deployed


Qualifications - Knowledge, skills and abilities
•6 years or more of experience in web, distributed and middleware applications infrastructure set up and maintenance
•Experience deploying, installing, administering, securing and maintaining server environments running Linux or UNIX systems
•Experience administering Windows servers
•Strong experience with Java-based applications, Apache, Tomcat, web services, JDBC, Oracle, SQL, shell scripting
•Good knowledge of networking concepts (e.g. firewall, DMZ architecture, network security, SSL, encryption, authentication/authorization technologies)
•Detail-oriented, with excellent troubleshooting skills
•A successful track record of ensuring that the business needs of clients are met
•Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion, engage participants and meet deadlines
•Experience creating technical documentation such as deployment, administration and maintenance guides
•Ability to manage multiple deliverables and work independently
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•4 years or more experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC)
•Detail-oriented, thorough and analytical

Job Description
Our client has a requirement for Sr Business Systems Administrator for a 9 months Contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto, Ontario.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
The team designs, builds and supports Unix based environments. We will be working with Technology partners to implement new servers and hand over to the Operations and Availability Management Team which will support Production and BRP env. The Unix Engineering team will also be responsible for primary support of Dev & PAT environments and as a 3rd Level Support for Production & BRP environments.


Position Functions:
·         Proven knowledge of common hardware server platforms for Unix (x86/AMD based servers from IBM/HP, SUN hardware).
·         Sound knowledge of common mass storage platforms like SAN, NAS, Disk Arrays etc.
·         Sound knowledge of network connectivity, protocols and ability to configure servers as per standards within the team.
·         Ability to integrate monitoring and performance tools and analyze their output.
·         Manage security across the environment and be able to integrate standard security products like ESM, eTrust etc. on the servers.
·         Trouble-shoot system issues and isolate problems using system logs and common monitoring tools like Tivoli & CIRBA.
·         Monitor patches from vendors for hardware & OS and apply pro-actively within assigned environment.
·         Ability to document processes for operational handoff and recoverability by keeping and updating records of servers builds and changes.
·         Ability to work under pressure and do after-hours work for Projects to implement changes and meet tight deadlines.
·         Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to ensure project objectives are met
·         Respond to requests for information and assist development teams in evaluating alternate approaches
·         Provide ongoing support and consultation, and share knowledge of Unix OS functionality.
·         Work with development & Project management staff to promote a better understanding of Unix OS issues, standards and features
·         Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with industry and/or business trends
·         Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving business objectives and providing client services
·         Support a positive work environment that promotes customer service, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
·         Participate in knowledge transfer within the team, and business units
May coach, lead and/or develop others


Preferred Qualifications:
·         The ideal candidate has a degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical courses from Unix vendors.
·         Certification on or strong knowledge of Veritas & OS platforms.
Minimum of 6 years experience as hands-on in design and build of Linux (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server) systems.
·         A knowledge of S0olaris &/or Red Hat Linux will be an asset.
·         Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent experience
·         Excellent oral and written skills to communicate status or work progress to projects teams and management
·         Very good knowledge of Unix file-systems, Veritas Volume management, patch management, trouble-shooting, storage management, performance management, High Availability.
·         Very good knowledge of system tools such as Veritas Volume Manager, Tivoli Storage management , ESM etc.
·         Ability to work unassisted in high pressure environments.
·         Be able to work as second level support within the engineering team.

Deliverables

  • Liaise with the Standards Team to ensure all changes to the standards are reflected and incorporated into the implementation plan
  • Lead project activities associated with the transition of software to ongoing operations and support/maintenance


 Qualifications - Knowledge, skills and abilities 
  • Experience in healthcare and working in healthcare teams
  • Extensive knowledge of OHRS/MIS
  • Experience in leading implementation team(s) in healthcare projects
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of financial management, accounting and program analysis
  • Extensive project leadership experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Multi-organization projects
  • Multiple stakeholders
  • Establishment and/or management of information resource management functions in large or medium organizations
  • Managing the implementation activities associated with large projects
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development and maintenance of applications
  • Experience in the use of project management software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Requirements:
• Provide technical application support in response to MIS and HRIS end-user requests.

• Working experience with Terminal Servers.

Requirement or Qualifications:
  • 2nd and 3rd level development/technical support
  • Analyze problems related to the development of Applications/Solutions based on hybris products
  • Assist the implementation partners in adapting our software products
  • Communicate with implementation partners to identify, understand and solve product specific problems
  • Collect technical information related to problems and coordinate the resolution process with the relevant contacts internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with the R&D Team for more complex technical questions
  • Recreate customers environments and configurations for deep technical analysis
  • A degree in information technology or software development or comparable experience
  • 5+ years experience in software product support or in software development
  • 5+ years experience with technologies such as JEE, Spring, Tomcat
  • Good written and spoken English language skills
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • eCommerce and/or PCM experience is an asset
  • Experience in international projects and/or international business is an asset.
