Job Description

Our client requires an experienced Systems Analyst with 10 years of experience to provide Systems Analysis services to meet the implementation of their new application.   The SA will work closely with the Project Manager, Project and Technical Leads as well as the functional business owners/stakeholders for a one year contract opportunity.  The position is located in Ottawa.

Requirements or Qualifications

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

a) develop and document system requirements

b) implement Systems to support projects of other departments

c) translate business requirements into system design and  

    specifications

d) analyze and recommend alternatives and options for solutions

e) code within a JAVA environment

f) design, implement services using JBOSS ESB & Spring Framework

g) prototype solutions

h) develop technical specifications for systems design and implementation

i) provide related briefings and status reports,  and

j) work within a team environment with multiple stakeholders


The following deliverables will be produced as part of these activities, but are not limited to:
a) Systems design documentation, JAVA based front end for the application

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in Flex framework
• 4 years of experience in Object Oriented JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, CSS
• Strong Java/J2EE background (Servlets, JSP, JSTL, JDBC, JMS, SOAP, Web Services)
• Extensive experience using web framework like Spring or Struts.
• Experience in Ant/Maven, Log4J, JUnit, Weblogic Application Server and Eclipse.
• Proven knowledge of ActionScript 3.0 and experience in application development using the Adobe Flex frameworks .i.e., Cairngorm,  PureMVC,SWIZ etc.
• Good knowledge in BlazeDS and\or Granite DS and Flex Builder 3.
• Experience with cloud computing (Amazon and other cloud computing tools) is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge in HttpServices, Remoting and Web services.
• Knowledge of Optimization and Modularization of Flex Application.
• Development of Custom Components in Flex.
• Experience with AJAX, JSON and Web 2.0 technologies
• Competency in JavaScript and HTML. (Integration of Flex with JavaScript i.e., External Interface API etc.)
• Experience working on portals, dashboards and large scale intranet applications
• Ability to work well with others and multitask

• 5+ years experience in software product support or in software development
• 5+ years experience with technologies such as JEE, Spring, Tomcat
• Good written and spoken English language skills
• Good communication and coordination skills
• eCommerce and/or PCM experience is an asset
• Experience in international projects and/or international business is an asset.
