Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Database Administrator for a 6+ month contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Ottawa, Ontario.

Requirement or Qualifications:

1. As the Senior Database Administrator must demonstrate that they have performed the role of a Database Administrator  in the last fifteen (15) years;
2. Three (3) years of experience on projects defining database structures for Oracle;
3. Three (3) years of experience on projects executing bulk extract and load routines within an Oracle environment;
4. Three (3) years of experience on projects executing backup and restore functions within an Oracle environment;
5. Experience for the initial sizing of staging databases;
6. Experience  executing  data conversion routines;
7. Experience with the development  and coordination of back-up, disaster recovery and virus protection procedures; and
8. Must have valid Security clearance.

Our client has a requirement for a Test Manager for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role:

We are looking for a Test Manager (not a QA Manager). The Test Manager must have experience with large, complex data-intensive initiatives across multiple legacy and trading applications. They must be able to work within a large enterprise program and provide direction to a team of technology professionals, business analysts and subject matter experts.

The Test Manager will be working on an enterprise wide Regulatory Project.

Please apply if you have worked and understand legacy and trading applications. This individual would need to have strong technology background and understands data and systems, in particular Wholesale banking - Capital Market (deposits, payments, or wealth products).

We are not looking for a Test Manager with web development or people manager or test methodologies guru. We are not looking for credit or market risk or derivatives experience. We are looking for a seasoned Test Manager who has worked with data migration or conversion or has worked with a similar type of project such as Basel initiative. This project is very data intensive and assembling feeds. This individual will need to have at least ten (10) years experience with legacy applications and at least five (5) years experience with trading applications. This individual will need to be at a very senior level in their experience and possess extremely strong communication and presentation skills. The manager has highlighted this as one of the most important skills and this individual will be involved with executive level presentations as well as communication across both technology and business lines.

The role will also require the manager to perform testing along with their team. They need to have experience with UAT testing or managed UAT testing. They also have managed non testers and non developers in UAT environment. This individual needs to have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Candidates with Wholesale banking - Capital Market (deposits, payments, or wealth products) experience will be given preference. Candidates should have worked with large, complex data-intensive initiatives projects on multiple legacy and trading applications in the past.

Job Description:

•To assist in the delivery of efficient, effective, and relevant testing services, primarily in automation testing
•To produce visible test evidence that supports the quality assurance measures for the business
•To understand the project priorities and to ensure that the implementation of the test scripts is in alignment
•Adhere to the test automation framework and write test scripts to support testing requirements of the project
•Write test automation artifacts such as test scripts and following test automation processes to comply with relevant regulatory and quality system standards
•Coordinate automation activities with the global team (located in India, Europe and NA


Qualifications:

•Exposure to test data management and data conversion processes
•Experience with UI, Middleware systems and Backend test automation practices
•Strong SDLC and programming background especially with VB/VBScript and/or Java
•Hands-on experience with various test automation (e.g. HP QTP, IBM Rational, etc) and test management tools (e.g. HP Quality Center, IBM toolset etc) plus their integration
•Strong ability to facilitate test planning and JAD sessions across QA groups to document clear, accurate test deliverables during the initiation phase of automation projects
•4 to 7 years testing experience working in a technical capacity
•Experience in designing and/or developing customized automation framework that is reusable, expandable and low maintenance Development of test automation strategies, automation plans and automated test scripts
•Strong experience with various functional test automation methodologies such as hybrid, keyword, data-driven, component data-driven, messages data driven, etc
