About the Job
Our client has a requirement for a Technical Lead Developer for a six month Contract opportunity. The position is located in Mississauga.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Data Integration Developer, this candidate would build SQL queries using SQL database based on reporting requirements from a legacy system. A legacy system is being decommissioned and migrated to another system. The historical archived data needs to be retained. This candidate would take the functionality of the old system and build reporting based on historical data. Experience with data migration from older SQL version to SQL 2008 R2 would be preferred.
The challenge would be reverse engineering as there is not a lot of documentation to refer to. This individual would need to understand the data and work with the new system to determine what reports are produced. From this information, the individual would build SQL queries to ensure the historical data is captured and the output is similar to that of the new system. In other words, the historical data needs to be preserved.
Please submit candidates who have worked for a large organization, migrated data from older SQL version to SQL 2008 and has the ability to work with any incompatibility issue that arise; can understand the requirements, can take the functionality of a legacy system, understand the data and able to build SQL queries on historical data. Shortlisting will take place as soon as qualified candidates have been submitted. Interviews will take place next week.

Must have:
- SQL Server, SQL reporting services and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
- Data migration experience
- Database
- Has strong experience with upgrading from MS SQL 2000 to SQL Server 2008 R2 server and software related products such as SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
Nice to have:
- Data migration experience from older SQL version to SQL 2008 (R2 is preferred)
- Working knowledge of SDLC
- Worked with large organization
- Ability to work with any incompatibility issue that arise
