Accountabilities:

• Management, maintenance and delivery of Microsoft Windows Server and VMWare ESX infrastructure supporting the Company's business systems.
• Assist and/or lead in the management and delivery of Microsoft and Blackberry messaging and collaboration server platforms.
• Assist and/or lead in the management and delivery of Microsoft IIS and IBM WebSphere web services.
• Participation (leader and/or shared) in technical project implementations.
• Incident and problem solving of complex technical issues, including flexible and on-call after hours support for critical systems.
• Technical design and project documentation.
• Development, collection, and analysis of system/service performance metrics.
• Continuous improvement of the infrastructure through rationalization, optimization, standardization, and simplification.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years in a similar IT role
• Platform (Wintel) - Strong-to-expert knowledge of Windows server platforms including Server 2003/2008.
• Virtualization - Strong-to-expert knowledge of VMWare ESX platform
• Platform Management & Automation - Strong knowledge of industry standard platform management and automation utilities, eg. Microsoft SCOM, Altiris, CA, BMC Patrol, etc
• Directory Services, Collaboration & Messaging - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange (all versions) and Active Directory (2003/08).  Strong knowledge of Microsoft collaboration technology including SharePoint.  Experience with OCS/Lync 2007 a strong asset.
• Internet Services - Strong knowledge of Microsoft IIS and/or IBM WebSphere.
• Databases - Working-to-strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2000-2008 technologies - particularly from an operations and implementation perspective.
• Networking & Storage - Strong knowledge of Microsoft networking technologies, TCP/IP, and core security.  Working knowledge of the design and administration of Storage and backup technologies including SAN, NAS, nearline, tape backup, etc.
• Education - Technical/computer related diploma and/or related industry experience. 
• Technical Certification - Certification and/or accreditation of above listed core technologies a strong asset.  Core certification should include a MCSE / MCSA 2003/2008.  ITIL foundations a strong asset

Systems Administor

Our client is a Tier One supplier to the major automobile manufacturers, a full-service automotive industry leader in the design and manufacture of metal stampings; modular welded assemblies; structural welded assemblies; mechanical assemblies and heat shields for thermal applications.   Located in Aurora, they are looking for a Systems Administrator.  This role is to maintain all file systems on all platforms, ensuring the integrity of the data, while providing support to all users on any systems related issues in an efficient, accurate manner.

Duties Include:

• Manages the computer operations, software selection and installation of systems
• Responsible for maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange 2010 as per Microsoft best practices on daily, weekly monthly maintenance schedules
• Manages installation, configuration and upgrades of all systems and software on network servers
• Is responsible to trouble-shoot critical failures and enhancements of the Production hardware/software
• Seeks any new software that would benefit company by keeping apprised of new technology through literature and attending seminars.
• Develops and document procedures when required
• Participates in ongoing Continuous Improvement processes
• Keeps up to date on customer requirements through attending     seminars, meetings, corresponding via fax/email.
• Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.
• Work safely by following safe work practices, Company safety rules, and complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Particularly Section 28 of OHSA) ,

What you bring:

• College Diploma or University Degree in computer related field
• Certification on Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 2010
• Minimum 2 – 3 years work related experience in a manufacturing/automotive environment
• Sound working knowledge of UNIX, network protocols
• Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
• Effective use of problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to collect, analyze information to determine root cause and resolution
• Uses positive interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships

Job Description

Our client has a requirement for Team Lead for a fulltime opportunity. The position is located in Waterloo.


Requirements or Qualifications

This person is responsible for: IT Operations strategic and tactical leadership and guidance; coaching and mentoring of staff; lead and participate (when required) in the completion of daily, weekly, and monthly operational, maintenance, and support tasks; establish and/or create processes, procedures, and standards; reporting and metrics and process improvement.


Accountabilities:

•Ensure all supported systems are operating as expected, being monitored as appropriate, and that preventative action is taken where required, according to defined operational strategies, procedures and policies.
•Responsible for the management, monitoring of as well as job configuration for our batch scheduling solution.
•Acts as final operational approver and scheduler for all jobs submitted.
•Ownership of the DataCenter (including co-location) facilities structure, environmental, power, and structured cabling.
•Identifies and manages team resources for various work initiatives.
•Prioritizes work streams, often in complex or difficult resource situations.
•Strong judgement in discerning between priority and non-priority issues.
•Ability to develop highly effective relationships with senior management, peers, and operational staff characterized by mutual trust and respect.
•Evaluate and recommend changes that will benefit the organization and infrastructure.
•Provides superior client experience.


Qualifications:

•Previous experience managing teams is an asset
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server - basic administration and alert monitoring
•Microsoft Active Directory 2000/2003/2008 - basic administration and alert monitoring
•HP/Dell servers - basic hardware knowledge and understanding
