Essential Duties:
- Lead the group’s mine planning team to evaluate opportunities at existing operations and development project
- Manage test work and mine evaluations to ensure technical feasibility and economics of new projects.
- Evaluate key risks at the operating sites and formulate plans to mitigate such risks.
- Evaluate feasibility of expansion and modernization of existing facilities.
- Assist with preparation of Technical and other corporate reports.
- Stay current with advancing technologies and how they may be applied to improve the company’s businesses.
- 30% - 40% travel to international locations required.
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Mine Engineering or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years practical experience in planning the short term and long term production of precious metals operations, including open pit and underground mines.
- Considering the location of our mines (in Latin America), a successful candidate has to have excellent oral and written communication skills, Spanish and English.
- In order to understand cultural issues, international experience in Latin American countries is required.
- Good health: several of the company’s mines and projects are located at high altitude in the Andes Mountains
