Our Federal Government client has a requirement for a Project Manager for a multi-year contract opportunity.  The position is located in Ottawa’s National Capital Region (NCR).

Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

• University Degree or College Diploma
• PMP Certification
• ITIL v3 Certification
• 10 years experience as a Project Manager
• Valid PWGSC Enhanced Reliability security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous project management experience on a large scale project valued over $10 million
• Previous project management experience on a business transformation initiative implementing a COTS ERP product.
• Previous project experience in the development and maintenance of risk and issues management processes and procedures in support of projects

• Five (5) years experience within the last (ten) 10 years overseeing Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions to gather information for projects;
• Five (5) years experience within the last ten (10) years working with detailed business requirements and incorporating them into a project plan;
• Experience managing implementations and maintenance and support issues with COTS vendors;
• Experience in the last ten (10) years managing projects while using the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management methodology;
• Experience in the last ten (10) years in managing projects which had Quality Assurance testing and Risk Management as components;
• Experience in the last ten (10) years in developing a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS);
• Experience managing data warehouse projects; and
• Valid Enhanced Reliability clearance.

Job Description

Our client has a requirement for Project Manager for 12 months Contract opportunity. The positions are located in Calgary, Alberta


Scope of Work/Description:

Working as a Project Manager, you will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and budget. This includes acquiring project resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and suppliers in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Client currently has a program underway whereby a number of enterprise upgrades will occur within various groups such as Finance, HR, Asset Management, Supply Chain Management and Capital Projects.

This Project Manager will focus on project implementation for the Capital Projects functional stream. The Capital Projects implementation will be delivering new processes within Primavera P6 and PCM (both are new installations that are also going to be tightly integrated with JDE 9.0.)

Technical Skills and Qualifications

•8+ years Project Management experience
•5+ years of implementation of COTS and/or ERP experience
•Experience managing and delivering projects based on customer requirements (this includes all aspects of project management from managing staff; planning using project tools; organizing and focusing resources; team management; managing project status as well as performance management and financial reconciliation)
•Working experience of PMBOK and/or PMI standards
•Experience implementing Primavera P6 and PCM (6+ years overall Primavera experience preferred)
•Previous experience with integrations to JDE or another ERP
•Some knowledge of Capital Projects is preferred
•Experience working with external consultants as part of a project team is very beneficial
•Experience with bringing challenging projects back on track would be very beneficial
•Experience in Oil and Gas industry would be beneficial
•Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite experience (Word / Excel / PowerPoint)
