Job Description

Within the IT Delivery area, Automotive Infrastructure Program, the Business Analyst is part of a team working with IT and the Business to deliver solutions that meet business objectives. The Business Analyst's core service is to define and manage business requirements through the analysis and post-analysis phases of an IT project. He/she serves as the ultimate facilitator between Business and IT in the elicitation of accurate, comprehensive requirements such that subsequent project phases - design, development, testing - can be executed optimally.

The Business Analyst combines business and technology skills with strong leadership, communication, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills. Using proven methods and tools, he/she leads the planning, gathering, packaging, validating and managing of requirements - in partnership with Project Managers, Business Stakeholders and IT interfacing groups. The Business Analyst may also be called upon to lead other IT project work based on changing project demands.


Responsibilities:

- Develop and communicate plans for defining requirements complete with timelines, approach, stakeholders and deliverables
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with multiple stakeholders to extract requirements using best practice methods and tools
- Create deliverables - process flows, business requirements documents, high level designs - for stakeholder approval using best practice methods and tools
- Track requirements through downstream processes to ensure consistent, accurate translation of requirements through design, build and test cycles
- Manage requirements scope via established change control processes
- Mediate differences in Business perspectives to drive requirements consensus
- Bridge the gap between business and IT ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment
- Build stakeholder trust by understanding business concepts, issues, opportunities and language
- Facilitate problem solving discussion and general communications between the business and IT and within IT itself
- Provide project management support using approved project management processes, tools and techniques
- Contribute to a non-siloed collaborative team environment by information sharing and team cooperation


Qualified Candidates will have:

•Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in a Business Analyst role in a project based environment
•University Degree or equivalent
•Business acumen in the supply chain, logistics, marketing and retail areas
•Fluent in technology and strong knowledge of software development methodologies/techniques
•Strong analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills
•Superior communication skills - written and oral
•Solid presentation, communication, facilitation/workshop skills
•Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict-management skills
•Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time and under tight deadlines
•Ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion and simplify complex situations
•Knowledge and interest in industry best practices regarding requirements definition and management

JOB OBJECTIVE:

To contribute to the growth of the ecommerce channel through technical programming and data manipulation expertise. To translate and execute ecommerce business requirements into realization.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

-5 + years of software development and delivery experience in J2EE
-2+ years ecommerce experience preferred – passion and interest in career development in ecommerce favoured.
-Experience with:
-Elastic Path 6.1
-Java script, HTML, CSS and AJAX
-Java /J2EE web application development (JSP, Servlets, Spring, OpenJPA, Apache Solr Search Server, DROOLS business rules etc.)
-ASP.Net
-MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MS Access
-Tomcat Java application server
-at least one version control system
-Eclipse RCP / SWT (or Java Swing, AWT)

MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:

-Develop and deliver ecommerce software within complex, enterprise environments using Java J2EE and integration with 3rd party applications
-Work across the whole SDLC including analysis, design, coding and implementation of large scale object-oriented applications
-Develop lights-out integration processes, ETL
-Use software best practices like Agile development, pair programming, continuous integration and automated acceptance/regression testing
-Lead and perform unit testing
-Assess options, costs, risks, complexity and benefits to determine the optimal design or solution
-Solve complex technical requirements or issues by leading analysis
-Contribute thought leadership in development best practices, technology stack, etc.
-Work closely with different development partners
-Create ad hoc reports, data exports
-Develop ecommerce analytical datamart
-Participate in technical evaluations of ecommerce technology including platforms, emerging technologies, etc.
-Provide/verify effort estimates of technical work
-Technical Design and Requirements Documentation
-Continually learn and develop skill set
