About the Job

Our financial services client is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst.  This role will leverage their experience to improve the QA practices within the team and deliver on projects assigned to them.  The role will provide recommendations as to testing best practices, tools, automation and opportunities and champion their implementation.  For projects assigned to them, they will plan, coordinate and participate in their delivery focusing on using risk based testing techniques in order to ensure the delivery of a quality product in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities 

• Champion the introduction and on-going use of test automation practices and tools using HP QTP
• Collaborate with developers and testers both locally and remotely to test software and manage defects.
• Develop and maintain a Master Test Plan, overall Test Strategy  for projects taking into account project risk, timelines and scope
• Create, maintain and execute test plans, test cases, automation testing frameworks and performance benchmarking and testing standards using Agile and Waterfall software development processes.
• Report and document software defects with high levels of detail and accuracy using HP Quality Center.
• Apply Risk Based Testing techniques to ensure the best use of testing resources and testing time.
• Define, and refine, QA practices within the Group IT team in order to provide quality project deliverables at optimal costs
• Provide mentoring, coaching and training to QA individuals and members of project teams
• Participate in the delivery of projects to ensure that applications meet requirements, either individually or as a member of a team
• Leads appropriate checkpoint reviews
• Performs other job-related duties and activities as requested. 

Requirements or Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree, College diploma in Computer Science field
• 8+ years of software testing experience, test case creation, test execution, defect tracking.
• 3+ years experience with test automation tools both in introduction and ongoing use, preference given to the HP toolset
• 3+ years experience with Microsoft .NET, SQL technologies
• Must possess hands on knowledge about Agile software development methodology.
• Ability to identify and deliver QA test processes based on industry best practice models
• Able to organize and manage multiple priorities in order to achieve aggressive deadlines.
• Experience working with out-sourced vendors
• Ability to find innovative solutions to QA challenges
• Experience in Group Life Insurance industry preferred

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Quality Assurance  for a 1 year contract opportunity.  The position is located  in  Mississauga , ON.

Role:

Implementation Services is situated on the critical path of application and Infrastructure implementations. The Business Application Services teams are responsible for testing and deploying the Bank’s business applications. As a member of the Business Application Services team, you will be primarily responsible for operational testing and deployment of application change into the production environment. The team works with various distributed and mainframe technologies/applications teams. You will also work closely with TS, OAM, External vendors, Business units and Engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of products/changes into the production environment.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Responsible for implementing different applications onto Linux, UNIX, and Windows platforms.
• Strong usage deployment tools such as, F-Secure SSH Client, MKS Source Integrity 7.6, WebSphere 6 and 7 consoles
• Responsible Daily usage of IS Portal project tracking tool, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Unicenter Service Desk
• Working with a variety of infrastructures such as UNIX, Linux, Windows, Pega, AIX, AS400 and OAM
• Creating Production Acceptance Test Plan (PAT), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Enterprise Operations Plan (EOP)
• Creating technical documentation for various applications and projects assigned to within the TD Wealth environment
• Supporting various applications on UNIX, Linux, Windows, Pega, AIX and AS400 and on the distributed environment
• Daily usage of UNIX command window, WebSphere console, Software testing tools and standard computer software
• Due to the nature of this role, there may be occasions for on-call / off-hours /occasional weekends

Our client has a requirement for 3 Q/A Analyst’s for a 7 month contract opportunity. The positions are located in Winnipeg.


Requirement or Qualifications:


Qualified Candidates will have:

1. Ability to produce core QA deliverables (such as Test Strategies, Test Plans etc..)
2. Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
3. Attention to detail
4. Good analytical skills
5. Strong planning and organization skills
6. Ability to plan / lead the verification efforts of a team, responsible for defect management and resolution
7. Ability to lead QA practitioners (both co located and remote) from a discipline and work leadership perspective, in addition to coaching and formally reviewing /assessing QA deliverables produced by other QA Analysts
8. SQL
9. MS Access
10. Mainframe knowledge


Desirable:

11. Knowledge of Clearquest
12. Strong knowledge of complex architectures (involving middleware) as it relates to validation / verification of overall solutions


Required Skills

• Minimum 5-8years experience in Senior QA role
• Senior level QA discipline skills, exercised by leading testing efforts on application delivery and infrastructure projects as the Test Lead


Key Accountabilities:

QA Analyst works closely with I.S. and business representatives, 3rd party representatives and project teams to understand, define, manage, monitor and promote the QA testing effort and processes, capture and promote the quality requirements, and ensure appropriate QA processes are followed. This role has a shared responsibility for the delivery of quality.

Activities performed in the role include:

• Plans and estimates project work specific to quality assurance needs
• Performs and manages test execution, either independently or in partnership with various I.S. practitioners/business representatives/3rd party resources
• Manages the Quality Assurance/ testing team effort
• Performs risk assessment analysis and provides recommendations for improvement
• Ensures quality assurance processes, practices, and tools are known and followed
