Our client has a requirement for a QA Applications Specialist for a six month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Mississauga.

Role

The successful candidate will join the Implementation Services group who are situated on the critical path of application and Infrastructure implementations.

Responsibilities

The Business Application Services teams are responsible for testing, deploying and updating support documentation of the organization’s business applications.

As a member of the Business Application Services team, you will be primarily responsible for operational testing and deployment of application change into the production environment. The team works with various distributed technologies/applications (UNIX, Windows and AS400).

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• 5+ yrs of experience with Windows platform environment
• 5+ yrs of experience of Unix / AIX environment
• 2+ yrs of Middleware components such as WebSphere, Oracle, or WebLogic
• 2+ yrs of experience with UNIX based scripting (Shell / Perl)
• 2+ years of experience or exposure to PAT (Production Acceptance Testing) and Production environments
• Experience with or exposure to Remedy / Heat / Clarity (an Incident and Change Management tracking to Tool / Ticketing Tool)
• 2+ years of experience using MKS/VSS, a tool used to go from Development to PAT and Production
• Possess excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Have strong customer service skills.
• Be organized, self-motivated and goal oriented.
• Demonstrate sound time management skills.
• Have a willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to successful completion
• Adaptable and supports change management
• Team player and can work independently
• A bachelor's or college degree from an accredited institution. MCSE certification, or 5 + years experience in related Information technology field.

We are looking for a strong Operational Tester for this opportunity to work in the Business Application Services business Unit.

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Demonstrated experience in providing IT/ QA Analysis and testing for Distributed Enterprise Systems on Windows 2003/2008
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Production Acceptance Testing environment (PAT)
• Understand Smoke-tests
• Experience with server side Operability testing (implementation of mission critical application into production)
• Strong documentation skills (Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports, Change Requests)
• 3 + yrs relevant of Strong UNIX/LINUX experience (must be comfortable working within this environment )
• 6 + yrs of strong Windows OS experience ( must be comfortable working within this environment)
• Understanding of Web and Applications Services IIS, WebSphere, WebSphere Portal, Apache,
• At least two years of experience with the implementation of applications
• At least one year of experience deploying Applications ion WebSphere
• Have a strong understanding of deployment times/ strategies
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Managing/ logging incidents , able to route / direct calls to appropriate group
• Strong knowledge of SDLC- from conception to maintenance phases
• Solid understanding of QA Methodology
• Ability to read Blue Prints
• Superior presentation skills, able to speak in front of stakeholders, present business cases
• Able to negotiate with various groups within technology/ engineering

Role:

Implementation Services is situated on the critical path of application and Infrastructure implementations. The Business Application Services teams are responsible for testing and deploying the Bank’s business applications. • Responsible Daily usage of IS Portal project tracking tool, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Unicenter Service Desk
• Working with a variety of infrastructures such as UNIX, Linux, Windows, Pega, AIX, AS400 and OAM
• Creating Production Acceptance Test Plan (PAT), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Enterprise Operations Plan (EOP)
• Creating technical documentation for various applications and projects assigned to within the TD Wealth environment
• Supporting various applications on UNIX, Linux, Windows, Pega, AIX and AS400 and on the distributed environment
• Daily usage of UNIX command window, WebSphere console, Software testing tools and standard computer software
• Due to the nature of this role, there may be occasions for on-call / off-hours /occasional weekends
