About the Job

Our client is looking for a candidate that can develop and maintain detailed functional knowledge and technical expertise of specific client production systems and applications.
The Analyst is expected to have detailed functional and technical knowledge of the applications they work with. This includes not only the technologies employed by those applications but the programming language and development tools used to create the applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed functional knowledge and technical expertise of specific client production systems and applications.
• The Programmer Analyst is expected to have detailed functional and technical knowledge of the applications they work with. This includes not only the technologies employed by those applications but the programming language and development tools used to create the applications. If these technologies are not understood, it is expected that the incumbent will acquire the learning necessary to fully understand those technologies.
• Translates requirements into design artifacts.

The Programmer Analyst:

• Creates design artifacts as eit:her specifications documents or UML models. The incumbent will ensure the quality of these artifacts by verifying they correctly implement the requirements.
• This involves writing software that meets design specifications. The software will be written in accordance with generally accepted software development best practices and software standards.
• This involves the functional and negative testing of software components.
• Assist the Systems Analysts to ensure software applications meet quality expectations.
• This involves ensuring the consistency and integrity of software applications by using static analysis tools to ensure software conforms to project standards.
• This also involves researching new software development best practices and ongoing reviews of coding standards, where appropriate, recommendations for improvements to existing coding standards will be made and implemented.
• Providing problem resolution support during each phase of testing a solution.
• The incumbent conducts root cause analysis of defects and modifies application software as necessary to correct problems.

Requirements or Qualifications

• Recent and extended role in Infrastructure Architecture Solutioning in a large Financial organization, 
• Knowledge of concepts and methodologies for designing business applications, with specific focus on high availability, disaster recovery and operability. 
• Thorough knowledge of the organization's IT environment including vendor software and relationships, 
• Specific knowledge in infrastructure technologies/domains. We are particularly interested in skills related to : 
• Websphere Application Server / ESB (WAS/WESB) on AIX and on System Z 
• AIX and IBM P-Series infrastructure 
• Database – Oracle, DB2, MS SQL 
• Pega 
• Filenet and Kofax 
• Windows & Linux 
• Storage – SAN, NAS, DAS 
• HA – PowerHA, MSCS, VCS 
• Security
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrating an ability to interact effectively with both technical experts and senior executives.

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Java Developer for a three month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:

• Develop and host web enabled and database driven applications in Java.
• Apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver solutions.
• Design and develop quality solutions for systems issues consistent with project objectives.
• Develop, implement and maintain solutions that maximize system availability.
• Provide periodic scope assistance

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Experience with Web Services ( JAX-WS, JAX-RPC, Apache Axis) and Web (Servlet, JSP, JSF)
• Experience with JDBC, JPA, Hibernate and Spring Framework
• Experience applying object oriented design best practices, including SOA and WSDL/xsd design
• Solid knowledge of WebSphere
• Experience with MQ or IMS connect
• Experience with Java SE, Java EE, XML (JAXP, JAXB), and ant
• Experience with Eclipse RPC and/or Lotus Expeditor an asset
• DBMS knowledge in DB2 a strong asset, but experience with other databases an asset as well.
• Proficiency with MS Office PC software applications (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Java Certifications would be considered an strong asset

• Basic understanding of all software engineering principals

Our client has a requirement for Senior Java Developer for a Fulltime opportunity. The position is located in Montreal.


Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

- Hands on J2EE senior developer/designer, with strong knowledge of SDLC best practices, strong problem solving attitude, analytical skills, and team-player
- Need to have a proven record of building enterprise grade system and working for mission critical 24/7- globally-distributed platforms – from inception to UAT deployment and production release
- An expert in j2ee application/web servers -preferably Oracle Weblogic 10.*/Apache-Tomcat
- An expert in J2ee, java, jms, jsf, ajax, xml, hibernate, spring, web-services, junit
- Must have strong work proficiency in: Unix : Sun-Solaris, Linux
- Must have Oracle experience and able of constructing complex queries using SQL.
- Working knowledge of Ant, Maven, and experienced in continuous integration building environments – Hudson or Cruise Control.
