Role

We are looking for a Senior Web Configuration Specialist with solid experience with WAS7 console to design, develop and implement tools to improve availability of environments.  The successful candidate will be a senior technical member of our DSS Team

Responsibilities

• Work closely with consultants and ITS to design, develop and implement tools to improve availability of environments
• Automate deployment and configuration of J2EE applications
• Provide infrastructure and environment support to shared services development and testing teams
• Work closely with LOB PMs and technical leads in support of TDCT initiatives
• Troubleshoot complex environment issues on distributed platform and co-ordinate the resolution with consultants, project teams and ITS partners

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Strong technical skills - working knowledge of supported technology such as - J2EE, IHS Web Server, WebSphere Application Server, MQ, SSL, XML, SOA, Unix Shell etc.
• Strong experience with WAS7 console, JMS queues, Database pools, custom JVM settings, JNDI names, good understanding of WAS cells, clusters, Node concepts, and connection factories
• Highly developed critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple assignments with competing priorities.
• Experience in deploying applications in a development environment
• Some knowledge of Database technologies (DB2, Oracle or MS SQL Server)
• Strong client orientation
• Java certification preferred
• Experience in application frameworks
• Familiarity with the Web and Application Servers, Workflow infrastructure.

Job Description

Our client has a requirement for a DataPower Specialist for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Mississauga.

We are currently looking for strong DataPower Specialist to join our Mississauga facility.

Accountabilities:

The incumben will work within the change management guidelines to install, configure, deploy, and support WESB and DataPower systems within DEV, SYS, PAT, and Production environments. Provide warranty period support for new application / system deployments.

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the following;

- Build and deploy DataPower and WESB based infrastructures with an emphasis on DataPower web service mediations – in support of SOA based business solutions
- Applied experience in deploying configuring and troubleshooting application (mediation) within WebSphere Enterprise Service BUS
- Applied experience with XML technologies including: XML, XSDs, XSLT and related tools
- Engage in business projects to configure, troubleshoot and deploy business web services within DataPower and WESB
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise in the ESB infrastructure (environment, hardware, performance, etc…)
- Working knowledge of SSL technologies including configuring SSL, AAA/SSL mutual authentication
- Excellent UNIX (AIX preferred) experience
- Ability to ask probing questions to understand the various concepts presented/discussed
- Some project management and negotiation experience would be an asset.
- Implementing infrastructure, configuring run times to support these technologies
- Diagnosing problems and resolving these challenges
- Must have strong understanding and experience with creating process flow
- The incumbent will be interacting with both internal and external technical community
- Must have experience from an enterprise-level environment
- System capacity planning and maintenance is a key aspect of this role.

Qualifications/Competencies Accreditation:

- Excellent UNIX (AIX preferred) experience
- Excellent Windows Server 2000 and 2003 admin experience
- HPUX experience a definite asset.
- IIS experience is important
- Ability to ask probing questions to understand the various concepts presented/discussed
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable with working in a rapidly changing, technically complex environment.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to junior team members.
- Some project management and negotiation experience would be an asset.
- Thorough understanding of PMLC and SDLC processes.
- Some after-hours\weekend and rotating pager support required
