Our client has a requirement for IBM WebSphere Portal Developer Lead for a 3 month contract opportunity. The positions is located in Maumee, Ohio.

Responsibilities

Participate in client discussions, interact with business analysts and establish technical specifications for the extended implementation team Lead efforts to understand as-is system and solution landscape and execute knowledge transfer sessions from client and partner stakeholders Perform As-Is analysis, provide To-Be recommendation’s, on technology solution and provide solution to specialized problems. Identify and execute plans for continuous improvement of the overall solution Evangelize the usage of reusable frameworks and artifacts, create knowledge artifacts and evaluation criteria guide or provide technical training in relevant technology areas in order to develop talent in technology /domain. Design, develop and maintain overall solution including responding to end user requests and solving critical issues related to application business continuity Interact with an extended globally deployed implementation team for overall solution delivery Lead Agile sprints and ensure execution with the extended sprint teams under the guidance of a Scrum Master

Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in:

• WebSphere Portal 6,7,8 development skills using Rational Application Developer 7/8.
• Page Builder Theme (7.0.0.2 theme)
• JSR 186/286 Portlet development

• Exposure to Spring MVC Portlet Framework, Struts Portlet Framework, JSF Portlet Framework
• Personalization APIs
• Extensive experience on web-related development efforts using Java, J2EE, or related development techniques: (AJAX, JAVASCRIPT, JSP, JSF, STRUTS)
• Exposure to Logging Frameworks & integration with portlets.
• Exposure to developing RIA using JQuery,DOJO,extJ ,CSS3,HTML5 etc
• Ant, Maven, Hudson, Continuous Integration concepts preferred.
• XML Access Scripting
• Good understanding of Configuration management tools like PVCS,CVS,SVN
• Experience in integration websphere portal with external search engine, web analytics tools, SSO tools.
• Experience working in highly available, clustered, and multi-tiered environments.

Role:

The Websphere Portal Developer will assist in building the Portal platform as well as any associated portlets. The Developer will be responsible for writing Java code for the purposes of building the Portal. They will also be responsible for integrating to back end systems.

Responsibilities
Serve as IBM Websphere portal expert and technical architect to design, develop, configure, manage and implement portal solution. Work closely with clients, partners, other architects and project managers to design, develop Portal solutions. Perform the competitive analysis of products and technologies under guidance to provide input on the service offering and input on suitable customers for pursuit Participate in client discussions to understand the problem faced by the customer and articulates the same to internal stakeholders, define and document the problem and get customer agreement, Brings in best practices in the Industry provide different options in order to assist in identify and define the problem Arrive at possible solution alternatives that factor in gap resolution, impact related functional/technical areas, acceptability of the solution to the user community, technical feasibility and efficiency. In order to assist in arriving at the final solution definition Evaluate and review Design Frameworks and Methodologies and approves design in order to achieve functional and non-functional requirements and conformance to the architecture Create, consult and review architectural decisions, architecture solution, performs re-engineering of architectures in order to create solution blueprint to meet project requirements Perform As-Is analysis, provide To-Be recommendation’s, evaluate product technology solution and provide solution to specialized problems in order to provide inputs on technical and domain road map. Evangelize the usage of reusable frameworks and artifacts, Create knowledge /certification artifacts and evaluation criteria guide or provide technical training in relevant technology areas in order to develop talent in technology /domain. Interact with an extended globally deployed implementation team and own bottom line responsibility of overall solution delivery
Skills
Candidate should have experience in the above responsible activities, while developing real world solutions specifically in any of the following areas as their primary skill: Stong experience in Enterprise Portal development: JSR 168/286, J2EE, and external application integration/enablement through a portal framework required. Experience in J2EE framework development experience (Spring/Spring MVC, Struts, JSF, Hibernate, etc.), object-oriented design and related tools (UML, Rational) Experience in integrating Websphere portal with external search engine like FAST ,Endica Experience in integrating Websphere portal with SSO tools ( Siteminder/TAM) Experience in integrating Websphere portal with web analytics tools like Unica,Omniature etc WebServices design and development experience required. Exposure to Javascript and Javascript libraries such as jQuery, DOJO, EXTJS, AJAX, HTML5/CSS3. Good understanding of Build and Release Management (SVN, Maven, Hudson) Understanding and experience with QA methodologies (JUnit, Selenium, etc) Expertise in tools like eclipse, RAD and WebSphere Portal 6,7,8 . Should have through understanding of Databases such as oracle, db2 or sql server. Familiar with the core design patterns and best practices (J2EE, Architecture) Must have a proven track record with integrating solutions in disparate platforms and technologies

About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Applications Developer – ETL for a six month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.


Role

The successful candidate will become a member of the Business Intelligence development team with a focus on ETL development. This individual will be responsible for developing ETL processes and tools for data extraction and loading, transformation and cleansing implementing business rules.

The BI Solutions delivery team is responsible for enterprise business solutions providing BI solutions to our technology clients and business partners. . Data warehouse solutions are implemented on DB2 v9 with the Ab Initio ETL tool and Cognos 8.4 Suite, Java/Shell Scripting/Stored Procedures used for back end processing and Actuate and Crystal is used for Enterprise reporting solutions.


Responsibilities

•Perform system analysis, design, programming, testing, and walkthroughs following appropriate SDLC methodology and adhering to the organization’s technology standards
•Produce test plans/scripts and perform test execution using available/appropriate tools
•Utilize the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) to create, review and complete required project documentation
•Contribute to team success by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time and within budget, while adhering to development and quality standards
•Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and with our technology partners


Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

•10+ years experience in Database/SQL skills in one or more popular database technologies preferably DB2, SQL Server, and Oracle.
•Minimum of 10+ years experience in ETL technology with Data warehouse specific skill set.
•5-10 years experience Java technologies in proven workplace development skills
•Advanced knowledge in Shell and PERL scripting in UNIX/AIX environment
•Report development experience in Actuate Reporting Suite (ver. 8 or higher) and/or Crystal Reporting Suite (ver. 10 or higher)
•Demonstrated Database Design and modeling skills
•Solid experience in analyzing query performance issues and modifying data structures or application code to remedy performance problems
•Knowledge in IBM data warehouse tool set with DB2, Cubing Service.
•Proficiency in XML technologies with experience in XQuery again XML based databases
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaborative skills
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with changing priorities
•Willingness to provide production support
