Job
Description:
Our
client has a 6 month contract requirement for a Senior Software Designer for
their Linux Development Team. The opportunity is located in the west end of
Ottawa and has the option of being extended to a more permanent position nearing
the end of the contract. The Software Designer will be a part of a team
responsible for building innovative products and solutions for content
management and content distribution. They will be responsible for designing,
developing, implementing and maintaining complex software products, enhancements
and features.

Qualified
Candidates must have:
- College Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5+ years related work experience in software development primarily in C, C++ and C# and multi-threaded programming
- 5 years of working experience using Linux (kernel, command line …)
- Knowledge of Networking and Internet technologies (HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, etc.)
- Knowledge of database technologies and SQL
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce a quality product in a timely manner
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
