  • Perform cost control, cost data analysis, and estimating activities

  • Creates and implements measurement systems for given processes, analyzes performance metric results, and recommend improvements
  • Maintains field quantity unit rate reports and monitors performance factors
  • Monitors progress of field contractors Performs, or coordinates the performance of, pricing structure development and application to takeoffs, derived quantities, quantity assumption, and cost allowances within a discipline or other specialty Prepares or reviews distributable and/or contractors' indirect cost estimates, developing basis for temporary facilities, miscellaneous construction services, construction tools and equipment, non-manual manpower, startup services, payroll taxes and insurance, camp facilities and operation, and other field office costs
  • Assists the estimating team to determine scope definition requirements for a discipline or other specialty, and works with Engineering and other sources to coordinate the production of required data to conform to the overall estimate preparation plan
  • Prepares cost reconciliations during preparation of estimates and performs data analysis, identifies problems, and makes recommendations
  • Takes a lead role re-casting project estimates into manageable cost control budgets per project requirements
  • Maintains the project job hour control system

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 6 - 8 years in a Project Controls related field
  • Self motivated with willingness to take on increasing responsibility

Air and Naval Systems– General Dynamics Canada (GDC) is the system integrator for the Maritime Helicopter Program, Canada’s new shipborne helicopter, the CH148 Cyclone. PURPOSE OF POSITION

NATO AGS Communication Group Controller User Interface (CGCS UI) Lead

The CGCS SW team is split into three sub teams:  the CGCS UI development team, the CGCS Server Development Team and the CGSC Test team.  The CGCS UI gets the status of the communications equipment from the CGCS Server and allows the user, via the CGCS Server to reconfigure the communications equipment.

Under the direction of the NATO AGS Communication Group Controller SW Lead, the CGCS UI Lead executes monitors and controls all software development and integration activities, to specify, design, implement, and integrate and support the CGCS UI solution.  The CGCS UI Lead acts both as a team lead and technical lead for the CGCS UI solution.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the GD Canada focal point for all CGCS UI issues, concerns and requirements
  • Execute, monitor and control the GD Canada activities associated with the CGCS UI solution development and conduct integration with the CGCS Server Software
  • Delivers the CGCS UI portion of the CGCS  solution to the customer’s stated requirements, on time and within budget
  • Ensure that all efforts adhere to the GD Canada EDF, Engineering development process and standards and the customer imposed formal review requirements
  • Act as the technical lead and solution architect for the CGCS UI application
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to the CGCS UI Team


SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years related experience as a SW Engineering leader for an effort of greater than $3M
  • At least 2 years experience in managing schedules and budgets
  • 5 years experience related to UI interface application development
  • 5 years experience in software development in a defense environment

Responsibilities
Key accountabilities include:
  • Contribute to the design and development of quality solutions for program/system issues consistent with project objectives and client requirements following technology architecture standards
  • Develop/program solutions primarily utilizing MS SQL Server and .Net Technologies
  • Manage source code for projects using enterprise source code repositories
  • Coordinate Development activities with our on shore and off shore partners
  • Liaise with other technology solutions delivery groups and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects
  • Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, and adhering to development and quality standards

Requirements or Qualifications
Qualified Candidates will have:
  • Strong development experience with client/server technologies including Microsoft Visual Studio, ASP.NET and SQL Server
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, C#, VB and familiarity with SQL DTS and SSIS packages
  • Strong Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – end to end development life cycle
