Our client has a requirement for a Senior System Developer for a 6 Month Contract opportunity.  This position is located in Toronto, ON.

Role

One of our Clients is looking to add several contractors to augment the staff in their File Transfer Group. The roles will involve doing some documentation, development using the various tools, communications with the CIPG (Customer Information Payment Gateway) support team and CIPG project. After some training on the CIPG application and environment, they will be expected to participate in the on-call support rotation for CIPG.

Currently, the on-call rotation involves several people who are each on call a week at a time.  The on-call person can draw from the entire group as needed to resolve production problems, if they cannot handle it themselves.

The manager is looking for self-starters, independent and creative thinkers, problem solvers, people that have the ability to share and learn information from others as needed.

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have experience in the following:

• Open Systems – UNIX(Solaris), Linux
• Oracle 10g and newer
• webMethods Development tools version 8 or higher
• Application Integrator (AI) Mapping tool
• Java
• Micro focus Cobol (MFCobol)
• FTP/SFTP/FTPS
• Network exposure to server names/IP Addresses/Firewalls/Secure key exchanges/PGP encryption
• IBM Mainframe skills (JCL, ESP, RACF, COBOL, etc) is an asset

Role

We are looking for a Senior Solutions Developer with strong Technical and/or Business Analysis skills to undertake analysis, design and development in various management reporting applications. This position will require the individual to be able to be comfortable leading teams in a project setting, perform troubleshooting when required in a tight situation, is a self-starter, a self-motivator, a dedicated and committed individual with proven experience delivering high quality solutions.

As part of the Corporate Segment Technology Solutions (CSTS) Finance team, this area is responsible for development of new management reporting environments and applications. They are the face of all technology areas to the business as well as manage any business development initiatives. The team's key responsibilities include performance tracking applications used to monitor Branch Performance and customer experience metrics. Retail banking Performance Management Reporting as well as manage the data mart used for the Bank Finance Management Reporting.

Responsibilities

Key accountabilities include:

• Contribute to the design and development of quality solutions for program/system issues consistent with project objectives and client requirements following technology architecture standards
• Develop/program solutions primarily utilizing MS SQL Server and .Net Technologies
• Manage source code for projects using enterprise source code repositories
• Coordinate Development activities with our on shore and off shore partners
• Liaise with other technology solutions delivery groups and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects
• Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, and adhering to development and quality standards
• Review and evaluates project documentation to determine feasibility and compatibility in light of business requirements
• As needed, test and debug according to test plans, using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding; monitor and report on results
• Comply with SDLC by participating in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis
• Support IT Manager in developing business cases, RFP and SLA with vendors/suppliers where applicable
• Complete SDLC (SRS/SDS) documentation
• Ensure compliance to TDBFG project management methodology
• Prepare application-related presentations and mock-ups as part of prototyping
• Coach, lead and mentor other team members. Participate in knowledge transfer with the team and business units

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Strong development experience with client/server technologies including Microsoft Visual Studio, ASP.NET and SQL Server
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, C#, VB and familiarity with SQL DTS and SSIS packages
• Strong Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – end to end development life cycle
• Strong in handling and act as key liaison for production type activities and project task activities
• Strong technical and business analysis Skills
• Familiarity with release and change management processes
• Ability to provide work effort estimates for development tasks
• Ability to understand and acquire new technical and business skills quickly and with minimal supervision
• Ability to develop application code, debug and trouble-shoot with minimal supervision
• Experience lead and coordinating development activities with both onshore and offshore development teams
• Ability to team lead and work in teams and also individually
• Ability to initiate and commit to the development activities, coordinate and execute them all the way to full deployment and production implementation and verification.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and business users
• Strong documentation skills both for detail and high level type documents

Role:

We are looking for a Senior Solutions Developer to work on a credit application project. The project will enhance an existing application. There will be a lot of analysis on the impact these enhancements will have as well as testing and review. Previous experience with credit applications in either commercial credit or small business is a very strong asset. J2EE and Web Technologies experience is mandatory. SSL Certification is a nice to have.

This requisition will move fast and shortlisting will take place on Friday afternoon or Monday morning. Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs for Canada Trust Technology Solutions Business Banking team. This team provides project delivery and system support for the Credit and Cash Management product groups within TD Business Banking. The team works closely with the business partners and other technology teams to provide solutions both in the mainframe and distributed technology domains. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to a project lead or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Prime responsibility will be to analyse the enhancement features, test and review and contribute to detailed design specifications, create and review code and assess impact on other applications. Role will work closely with other team members to ensure consistency in coding standards and approaches and to optimize any synergy and re-use opportunities.

Key Accountabilities are:
• Responsible for leading technical aspects of project from inception through to deployment. Participate in analysis and system design specification sessions. Documentation of design options and solutions according to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. Ensure that solutions adhere to development best practices and architectural principles.
• Apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver viable solutions. Anticipate obstacles and execute proactive approaches to issues. Active participation in issue resolution.
• Provide detailed development estimates to Project Manager for development effort as well as weekly status reporting and budget forecasting.
• Configuration management for the sub projects within the release.
• Responsible for coding, testing, packaging, deployment and support of builds as code is promoted from development, system, acceptance and production environments. May lead code reviews.
• Work closely with System Test Environment Management Team (STEMT) to ensure that environments are fully functional and that builds are properly deployed.
• Participate in development of test strategy, test plans, test cases and testing efforts (unit testing and integration testing of code).
• Provide technical support to business and testing team during testing phases. Track defects, defect triage and resolution.
• Data set up and environment shake down.
• Coaching / mentoring of junior developers.
• Knowledge transfer within group.
• Ensure required documentation is housed in the project repository and that knowledge transfer has occurred to full time staff upon completion of contract term.

SKILLS: May require a bachelor's degree and requires experience in the field or in a related area.
