Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for Intermediate Programmer Analyst – VBA/MS Access for 3 months contract opportunity.  The position is located in Calgary.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Update configuration of two BioFuels applications to ensure compatibility with the NA-STRIPES environment.
• The work will consist of VBA coding modifications and MS-Access database and Excel workbook structure modifications.

Our client has a requirement for an Applications Programmer for a 50 day contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role:

We are looking for a short term (50 days) Applications Programmer to develop code for a Private Banking Householding Application (writes software application programs). This candidate will code, test, implement and create system and user documentation. System requirements based on business needs and technical considerations are written, but applicant will need to be flexible as requirements will evolve.

Requirement or Qualifications:

• Write, test and debug code according to specifications provided by senior staff. Participates in code reviews.  Contractor will escalate unresolved issues to senior staff.
• Ensure consistency in coding standards.
• Ensure required documentation is housed in the project repository and that knowledge transfer has occurred to full time staff upon completion of contract term.

We are looking for a contractor (6 months to a year) to work with a very complex excel reporting tool we have built in house. The main skill required is advanced excel skills (VBA, Pivots, Analysis formulas).


Skills:

Advanced Excel skills (VBA, Pivots, Analysis Formulas)

Advanced troubleshooting skills with attention to detail

Should be able to readily grasp the business concept

Excellent team player but can also be effective working independently

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Highly motivated; has the initiative to take necessary steps without being told


Candidate will be expected to do the following:

•run the monthly preliminary & final versions of the datasheet
•run reports in Cognos as part of the monthly datasheet process preparation
•reconcile incurred charges against previous datasheets & budgets against the control totals
•investigate project anomalies using Powerplant, Project Compass & Cognos/CODA
•may be required to make “enhancements” on the current tool (the datasheet program) using Excel VBA
