Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for Business Analyst for a 6 month contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Deliverables 

• Identifies and translates high level, conceptual user-requirements into specifications of business requirements to guide service development activities
• Performs requirements validation and traceability
• Create and manage documentation of business requirements and functional specifications, or other required documents as per project processes
• Perform process modeling activities
• Develops use cases
• Helps develop test cases
• Initial Assignment deliverables will include the following:
• Gather and Document requirements for Forms Module Roll-out
• Prioritize requirements to updates on future versions of the Forms Module
• Create process documentation in preparation for knowledge transfer of Forms Module to long-term data holder
• Act as a business lead and liaison between the project teams and development groups.
• Work with subject matter experts and end users on validation of business requirements and detailed specifications.

 Qualifications

• Knowledge of assessment tools within community sector
• Experience with health care projects and related project streams and processes
• Experience or knowledge of software development methodologies or software implementation projects
• Experience with technologies including:
• Web based applications/ application development
• XML, XML schemas
• Enterpriseapplications
• Experience with implementation methodologies and processes related to health care sector change projects
• Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and planning skills
• Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship with project team members, internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to independently determine and manage tasks and processes for the purposes of meeting high level deliverables
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including MS Project, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• Experience in the Ontario healthcare sector.
• Experience in the Ontario Continuing Care sector

Role Summary:
 
Within the Client IT Delivery area, Automotive Infrastructure Program, the Business Analyst is part of a team working with IT and the Business to deliver solutions that meet business objectives. The Business Analyst's core service is to define and manage business requirements through the analysis and post-analysis phases of an IT project. He/she serves as the ultimate facilitator between Business and IT in the elicitation of accurate, comprehensive requirements such that subsequent project phases - design, development, testing - can be executed optimally.
 
The Business Analyst combines business and technology skills with strong leadership, communication, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills. Using proven methods and tools, he/she leads the planning, gathering, packaging, validating and managing of requirements - in partnership with Project Managers, Business Stakeholders and IT interfacing groups. The Business Analyst may also be called upon to lead other IT project work based on changing project demands.
Responsibilities:
 
 
Develop and communicate plans for defining requirements complete with timelines, approach, stakeholders and deliverables
 
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with multiple stakeholders to extract requirements using best practice methods and tools
 
Create deliverables - process flows, business requirements documents, high level designs - for stakeholder approval using best practice methods and tools
 
Track requirements through downstream processes to ensure consistent, accurate translation of requirements through design, build and test cycles
 
Manage requirements scope via established change control processes
 
Mediate differences in Business perspectives to drive requirements consensus
 
Bridge the gap between business and IT ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment
 
Build stakeholder trust by understanding business concepts, issues, opportunities and language
 
Facilitate problem solving discussion and general communications between the business and IT and within IT itself
 
Provide project management support using approved project management processes, tools and techniques
 
Contribute to a non-siloed collaborative team environment by information sharing and team cooperation
 
 
Qualifications:
 
 
Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in a Business Analyst role in a project based environment
 
University Degree or equivalent
 
Business acumen in the supply chain, logistics, marketing and retail areas
 
Fluent in technology and strong knowledge of software development methodologies/techniques
 
Strong analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills
 
Superior communication skills - written and oral
 
Solid presentation, communication, facilitation/workshop skills
 
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict-management skills
 
Knowledge of Client environment and inter-related business units a definite asset
 
Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time and under tight deadlines
 
Ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion and simplify complex situations
 
Knowledge and interest in industry best practices regarding requirements definition and management
