Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for a Help Desk Specialist for a one (1) year contract.  The position is located in Ottawa, ON.

Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

• 2 years experience providing end user support and training (Identifying and resolving PC workstation-related hardware) and software issues within an organizational context.
• Completion of a minimum of 2 years in an post-secondary educational program in computer science or information technology.
• 2 years utilizing incident tracking systems to track and update incoming service incidents, from initiation to completion.
• 2 years experience organizing and planning tasks to meet deadlines.
•  2 years installing and configuring the following applications and operating systems:  Microsoft XP, Blackberry Desktop Manager, WordPerfect Office 2002, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Office.
• 2 years installing, configuring and supporting the Lotus Notes client using Lotus Notes 6.5.5 or 8 including e-mail, databases, calendaring and shared functionality.
• 2 years of LAN/WAN networking based on Novell and/or the TCIP/IP suite of protocols (e.g., IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP), including basic knowledge of network hardware devices (e.g., routers, NICs, switches, etc.).
• Experience, in the last 4 years, utilizing HP ServiceCenter or alternatively a similar ticketing system preferably based on ITIL methodologies.
• Valid Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.

Our client has a requirement for 2 IT Analysts for a 6 month contract opportunities.  The positions can be located in either Mississauga or Scarborough.

Role:

The ideal candidates will be involved in administering network management applications in a large scale network environment for the Network Operations department.

The type of person suitable for this role is one who can play a leadership role, be result oriented, and should be a very strong team player who can independently engage other teams and areas while implementing solutions. The incumbent should be able to bring demonstrable and deep Network Management knowledge and past experience to the table having performed a similar role for at least 5 recent years.

Requirement or Qualifications:

• A good understanding of network related IT infrastructure
• Experience with Network Management applications/tools. (Must)
• Strong understanding of DNS and DHCP services (Must) and
familiarity with GSS and DD functions (will be a plus)
• Good understanding of SNMP, MIB’s, etc. (Must)
• Experience in maintaining applications on both Windows and Unix platforms (Must)
• Basic understanding of Unix and windows system administration (Must)
• A technical background in key aspects of network related IT infrastructure, including routers, switches, Firewalls, Checkpoint services, LAN/WAN circuits, etc. (Must)
• Experience in scripting (Unix shell, PERL) (Must)
• Advanced tools like SQL extraction, data mining, etc. will also be considered a plus
• 5-10 years relevant Network Management application/tools experience working in enterprise infrastructure technology organizations
• Experience with administering network management applications in a large scale network environment.

Job Description:
 
Our client has a requirement for a Network Management Operations System Operator for a 12 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Calgary, Alberta.   The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Tier 1 Network Management and Administration support in a 24 hour Network Operations Centre. This position is shift work.  Each shift is 12.5 hours in duration (variable rotation over a 12 week period with an average of 40 hours per week).

Requirement or Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Network Protocols TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
• TELNET, SSH, Remote Support
• Network Monitoring
• Network Performance 
• Systems Administration - Network, Windows, Linux
• Understanding of LAN/WAN infrastructureExperience with configuring, administering, and supporting Cisco routers and switches
• College Diploma in IT, Computer Studies or Engineering
• CCNA certification is required, CCNP preferred.
