Role

The Network Analyst will conduct network monitoring and performing problem determination for a number of our worldwide client network accounts performed out of our Calgary Global Customer Support Centre; Routing and switching is the focus with some Firewall and network appliances.

This is a 7x24x365 days rotational shift work. Each shift is 12.5 hours in duration (variable rotation over a 12 week period – with an average of 40 hours per week). Please note that this is not a help desk role.

Responsibilities

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for following individual client’s process flow and escalations on a per-client basis in a timely manner as well as engaging and following up with other telecommunication and managed services vendor on behalf of our clients.
• The ideal candidate will also be responsible for the management of the interoperability between various technologies such as Cisco, Riverbed, Big IP, and Juniper Layer 3 Platform, through the use of alarm and ticket systems, individual designed customized scripts, customer notification, and Business Partner escalations. They will be responsible for trouble shooting Complex Network Devices such as routers, switches, wireless devices, and load balancers within the customer's network infrastructure.
• Responsibilities will include providing real time in-depth analysis and real time trouble resolution of incidents associated with the CISCO, Juniper, and Iron Proxy, and load balancers associated Operations Support Systems, and Data Communications Network Technology platforms.
• The ideal candidate must have great communications skills and will be on daily operational calls with the Customer to go over critical outages and discuss status on major projects; they must be able to build relationships and deal with stressful client situations that are of critical in nature to our client.

Requirements or Qualifications

• Call Centre experience;
• Layer 3 IP Data Networking;
• Experience using Microsoft Office
• Cisco 65xx/76xx exp
• Knowledge of SONET/Eth Transport;
• Hands-on experience with IP Routing BGP/OSPF/LDP;
• Strong VLAN/Trunking skills and knowledge
• Demonstrated understanding of Layer Two and Layer 3 Switching concepts as well as configuring
• Troubleshooting VLANs, An Understanding of IEEE 802.
• Possess a solid technical background on Cisco and Juniper Multi-services Platforms
• Be Able to analyze and provide analysis on Network Issues.
• Hase Riverbed WAAS, Big IP Load Balancer, VoIP, Juniper, Cisco (LAN-WAN) skills and experience
• Strong Verbal-Written Communications
• Be Cisco certified: CCNA is minimum, CCNP is preferred
