Requirements:
•     5+ years experience working with C#.Net, Java/J2EE, Oracle 10G or higher, SQL Server 2005 or higher and web technologies
•     Knowledge of Financial planning, Trading and Asset Management Systems is a plus
•     Strong understanding of Wintel platform
•     Strong trouble shooting skills to help debug production issues (50%), development work is the remaining 50%
•     Experience working with vendor systems and backend integration with legacy systems
•     Provide input to the development portion of the project plan
•     Knowledge of SDLC and ability to work through the process
•     Ability to deliver high profile projects under tight timeframes
•     Good leadership, team working and communication skills
•     CMMI knowledge and working experience is an asset

CNRe Firmware White Box / Integration Tester

The Firmware Test Engineer will play a key role in conducting functional and performance testing of the CNRe firmware components and integrated radio functionality in readying the firmware release for system integration testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of the Firmware Test Engineer will include:
-          Working within firmware development team and with the hardware development team to define, develop, and manage functional component and integration tests.
-          Interfacing with advanced waveform development team to define, develop, and manage waveform performance tests;
-          Documenting test plans, test scripts, and test reports;
-          Coding unit tests and test structures;
-          Working in the CNRE laboratory environment to execute unit and integration tests;
-          Providing on-site technical support during lab demonstrations;
-          All other duties as required
  
QUALIFICATIONS
-          Bachelors degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
-          Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated to this position.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

-          System integration experience
-          Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
-          Knowledge of VHF radio, TDMA and software defined radio
-          Knowledge of Linux and TI DSP embedded platforms
-          Ability to set-up and troubleshoot a network
-          Knowledge of wireless and infrastructure-based networking principles is preferred;
-          The candidate should have an interest in learning emerging software technologies and solutions related to the area of real-time embedded software development and software defined radio.
-          The candidate should have a knack for trouble-shooting and enjoy setting-up test environments, executing tests, following-up on issues, and presenting the test results.

System Integration and Test Engineer

Under the supervision of the Information Assurance (IA) SI Team Lead, the successful candidate will hold a security integration role, applying engineering knowledge and techniques to define, write, execute and report on test and integration activities for the LEISC project.   An IA SI engineer works under the close supervision of a more experienced engineer and demonstrates a desire and capability to learn and improve in the given area.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 The duties of the IA SI Member will include:
  • Write test procedures including configuration descriptions and expected outcomes, in accordance with the design documents and GDC processes.
  • Execute formal and informal test procedures, gather appropriate measures/data and document results.
  • Perform initial investigations to clarify problem components for further analysis.
  • Write defect and test reports for review by senior integration and systems engineers, to demonstrate progress and communicate as required.
  • Participate in integrated team activities with System Engineering and Development.
  • Apply engineering techniques, tools and knowledge in support of effective test activities.
  • Conduct himself/herself professionally in all meetings, activities and when included in customer attended events.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics or related technical/scientific degree with a focus on computer, networking or information security.
•     Computer or Network Security qualifications e.g. CISSP, (SANS GIAC) GSEC, MCSE or other related security certifications would be viewed as an asset

EXPERIENCE
  • Able to apply problem solving skills to daily activities
  • Strong communications abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of voice/data networks and Internet Protocols (IP) an asset
  • Positive approach to learning and trying new things
  • Networking, computer or information security fundamentals
  • Knowledge of wireless and infrastructure-based networking principles is an asset
OTHER
 Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position which requires a minimum 5 year consecutive residence in Canada.
The successful applicant must also be capable of ITAR clearance for project related, TAA controlled, information.

Role Overview

Duties include the following:
  • Supervise the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers and designers

  • Coordinate assigned engineering work with other project groups
  • Estimate staffing needs and schedules and assign work to meet schedule need dates
  • Conduct performance appraisals in accordance with approved procedures
  • Coordinate with client representatives as required to obtain their review and approval of phases of work

Candidate must have:
  • Experience and technical skills related to mechanical systems and specifications for nuclear power plant equipment.
  • Working knowledge of MAP-101, P&IDs, ProjectWorks, TeamWorks, InfoWorks, Standard Numbering System, ESA, and BecWeb resources.
  • Must work efficiently and accurately in a chaotic, deadline driven environment.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required to support project schedules.
  • Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards along with technical knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years engineering experience, including three to four years nuclear plant system design.
  • Must have the right to work and remain in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited college or University.
  • Must be able to pass nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years engineering experience, including five to six years of nuclear
  • Plant system design
  • Previous Supervisory experience
  • Masters degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License
