Contracts Administrator

Our client has a requirement for a Contract Administrator for a perm opportunity.  The positions are located in Edmonton, Alberta.

Role Overview
  • Implement the Division Responsibilities Matrix which records the Projects agreed assignment of various (sub)contract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to (Sub)Contract Administration.
  • Administers assigned (sub)contracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information re Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, (sub)contract performance, (sub)contract administration and other major matters.
  • Administers moderately complex contract changes by negotiating with customer personnel and obtaining settlement.
  • Represents the client in contractual discussions of moderate complexity.
  • Administers information programs to ensure mutual understanding of (sub) contract terms and conditions.
  • Prepares periodic status reports for management.

Job Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of procurement regulations, policies and practices.
  • Specialized courses or experience in pricing, contract law, negotiations and accounting.
  • Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices and policies, procedures and work practices.
  • Experience in developing contract types, fee arrangements and contract terms.
  • Experience in developing and recommending potential solutions to contractual problems to management.
  • Administers complex (sub) contracts.  Extensive knowledge and experience in (sub) contract administration required.  Represents client in (sub) contract negotiations.

Basic Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Business, Finance, Construction Mgmt, Engineering OR Equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 6 years experience in Contracts Management Procurement function
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexible in job location.
  • Must have the right to work and reside in country of assignment
  • Must have valid Driver License.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Contract Administration tools (Expedition) and processes (WebSR, RFPs) a plus.
  • BS Degree in business related field or construction technology.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Our client has a requirement for a Lead Contract Performance Manager for a perm opportunity.  The positions are located in Calgary / Edmonton with 50% travel required.

Role Summary / Purpose:
The Lead Contract Performance Manager will be measured on his customer relationship and the ability to produce financial and operating results. Each Contract Performance Manager (CPM) will be required to work independently to manage long-term service agreements. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality customer solutions including new products, outage planning, parts and repair.


Essential Responsibilities             
  • Order / track / validate Billing for major / minor maintenance parts and services requested by the customer
  • Control contract profitability through periodic Review process
  • Maintain unit operating history & parts life history on commercially available software
  • Maintain record of parts currently installed in each unit
  • Support customer in forced, unplanned and planned unit outages
  • Provide information and drive sales regarding the latest advancements in conversion, modification, & upgrade opportunities to owner as well as other up selling opportunities
  • Interface with teams for new customer opportunities


Qualifications/Requirements     
  • 4 years of Engineering Degree preferred but 2 years technical degree will also be considered
  • Must have good knowledge on industrial gas turbines
  • Minimum of 10 years industrial experience
  • Demonstrated management experience
  • Previous significant customer-facing experience.
  • Successful P&L experience
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
