Our client has a requirement for Operations Support for a 6 months contract opportunity. The position is located in Toronto.

Requirements or Qualifications
  • Our Hiring Manager requires an Operations Support contractor with a strong technical background.
  • The Team processes systems access requests forms for new hires, employee transfers and terminations.
  • The team acts as the equipment and technology experts, providing daily support to resolve issues experienced by members of the team.

Accountabilities
  • Coordinate the delivery, implementation and repairs of equipment and other technology.
  • Actively participate in small to medium sized projects. Continuously maintain and update internal databases for equipment, data port table with 100% accuracy.
  • Act as the expert for the division, supporting multiple phone services at various locations within the division, including conference lines and blackberries.
  • Coordinate updates to org charts, distribution lists, floor plans with 100% accuracy.
  • Actively participate in various support tasks such as ordering supplies, troubleshoot access issue, hardware configurations and phone setups.
  • Work with various support and setup groups across the company to ensure clarity and understanding of all their portal requirements and functions.

Qualified Candidates will have
  • 3 + years experience in a Technical/Admin Support Role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (understanding of functions and pivot tables) and Visio Org Chart design/maintenance are a must
  • Process Documentation
  • Ability to identify gaps in business systems and develop improvement plans
  • Strong communication
  • Experience with 2007 MOSS (SharePoint) is an asset

Role 
Enterprise IT Operations is a dual site 7/24 Service Availability department responsible for providing frontline support and monitoring of the Bank’s mainframe, distributed and network environments. The primary focus of the team is system surveillance and reacting to anomalies that are presented through a variety of monitoring tools for the Bank’s mission critical platforms. We are looking for self-motivated and focused individuals who enjoy a fast paced environment requiring attention to detail.

Responsbilities and Accountabilities 
  • A Service Availability Representative within Operations is responsible for providing frontline monitoring and support of the Bank's Mainframe Systems, File Transmissions, and Banking applications. 
  • Batch monitoring and execution of all mainframe applications through CA/7, ensuring SLAs are met and exceptions are addressed. 
  • Monitoring of the schedules and resolving exceptions of all file transmissions across various platforms such as Connect Direct, TCP/IP and FTP. 
  • Contributes to Service Management processes such as Incident, problem and change on behalf of Operations. 
  • Acts as the focal point for all exceptions, ensuring incidents are resolved promptly mitigating impact. 

Skills
  • Strong team player, and self-motivated 
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Experience and a sound understanding of Z Series MVS Mainframe, hardware and Operating system. 
  • A sound understanding of File Transmission protocol’s such as Secured File Transfer, FTP, TCP/IP and Connect Direct 
  • Experience with CA/7 batch scheduler 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Able to partner with peers to complete tasks while fulfilling job requirements. 
  • Proven track record of delivering results ensuring operational, reputational, and proprietary risks are minimized 
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize. 
  • Promote and support an environment that encourages productivity, innovation, teamwork with a high level of professionalism 
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with industry and/or business trends 
  • Self motivated team player with high energy and ability to work independently as well as within a team 
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements 
  • Knowledge of large scale Mainframe, Distributed systems and Batch processing 
  • Thorough understanding of the core ITIL processes

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the equipment and technology expert for the organization, providing daily support to resolve issues
  • Coordinate the delivery, implementation and repairs of equipment and technology 
  • Process system access requests for new hires, employee transfers and terminations 
  • Complete monthly and quarterly access reviews, and ensure access is Audit compliant 
  • Actively participate in small to medium organization projects, including but not limited to, contributing to project meetings, installation of new technology, and coordination of equipment and or resource relocation 
  • Continuously maintain and update internal databases for equipment, data port table, etc with 100% accuracy 
  • Act as the expert for the division, supporting multiple phone services at various locations within the division, including conference lines and blackberries 
  • Coordinate updates to organizational charts, distribution lists, BCM, floor plans, etc with 100% accuracy 
  • Maintain Carpe Timekeeper for all resources in department
  • Actively participate in various support tasks such as ordering supplies, entering timesheets, filing expenses 
  • Participate in the preparation of various reports for department leads 
  • Continuously engage the members of the department to provide training, orientation, guidance with a focus on excellent customer service 
  • Act as support to the SharePoint expert for the organization, providing access to various sites, creating access groups etc 
  • Live Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the work group 
Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:
  • 4+ years Microsoft Excel experience
  • Visio experience 
  • Strong Administration background 
  • Exposure to 2007 MOSS (SharePoint) 
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong, collaborative team player 
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks 
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced team environment 
  • Highly motivated with strong focus on customer service 
  • Ability to identify gaps in business systems and develop improvement plans 
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people at all levels 
  • Confidence in decision making ability 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong time management, organizational and analytical skills
