Job Description:
Our client has a requirement for an Operations Manager for a permanent opportunity. The position is located in North Bay, ON.

Duties & Responsibilities:
BUILDING OPERATIONS
Provides guidance, manages and inspects all building and site operations in the areas of facilities and equipment maintenance (incl. all mechanical, electrical, power, plumbing, security and other auxiliary equipment), HVAC, fire and life safety, emergency procedures, ground-keeping and security to ensure the property adheres to the existing building & fire codes as well as existing company policies & procedures.
 
SERVICE CONTRACTS
Negotiates, prepares, approves and controls third-party service contracts for preventative and emergency facilities and equipment maintenance, security and ground-keeping to ensure that the property is timely maintained and secured in accordance with landlord’s specifications.
 
PLANNING & BUDGETING
As a member of the senior property management team, participates in policy definition, goal setting, facility planning, program implementation & maintenance, environmental compliance as well as operations budgeting and forecasting to ensure the overall asset management goals and objectives for the property are met.
 
BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS
Develops and implements various policies & procedures, performs design reviews and approvals, coordinates contractors, supervises and inspects construction projects, prepares progress reports and otherwise closely works with other business units to ensure that all facility upgrade/retrofit as well as capital projects, new construction, environmental projects and landlord base building & tenant leasehold improvement work are performed on time and within approved budget.
 
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT & SUSTAINABILITY
Monitors, analyses and reports on various operations metrics (maintenance, insurance claims, equipment utilizations, utilities usage, project data, security reports etc.) and suggests continuous improvements to ensure that all facilities and site equipment and systems are utilized and maintained in the most cost-effective manner.
 
STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIPS
Builds trust and maintains positive and value-adding relationship with tenants, government authorities, businesses, contractors, other business units, customers, investors, general public.
 
TEAM DEVELOPMENT
Is responsible for hiring, on-the-job training and managing building maintenance and engineering personnel.
 
Requirement or Qualifications:
 
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Previous experience at regional or multi-regional retail centre
  • Previous experience with large-scale central plant HVAC system
  • Previous experience with operating budgets and re-forecasting processes
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications and Blackberry.

Additional Requirements:
  • Certification in one of the core building operations systems (e.g. HVAC, Boiler etc.) is an asset

  • Experience managing projects is an asset.

Job Description:

Our client has a requirement for an Operations Manager for a permanent opportunity. The position is located in Calgary or Edmonton.
Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager is a responsible and accountable for providing key leadership and direction, managing operations, business projects and supporting decision making within the program within Clinical Transformation Services in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Organization. The position is also responsible and accountable for operational support of the critical care clinical information system, including primary responsibility over the components of that system. The program designed to support service delivery to 4 different populations of critical care patients ( adult, cardiac, pediatric, and neonatal) within 5 geographic zones from one integrated software solution. When fully deployed, it will support 700 beds in 35.units across Alberta.
Operational and Team Leadership
Overall responsibility for the delivery of eCritical services to critical care users at established service levels across the province of Alberta.
Accountable for maintaining a strong relationship with related IT and clinical engineering departments to ensure 24/7 performance and support
Acts as a key liaison and a resource to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Critical Care Network, and critical care unit leadership
Develops strategic goals and objectives for the provincial Operational Support Team, and it’s effective service delivery, in support of patient care across the province.
Represents Operations to other application and system support teams in the organization.
Assists the unit clinical directors and ELT members in strategic planning and implementation of critical care operational initiatives across the province.
Acts as primary liaison with software vendors.
Works collaboratively and supports representatives from the adult, paediatric, neonatal, and cardiac critical care portfolios, IT, vendors, administrative, patient care delivery, research, and provincial reporting requirements.
Ensure effective methodology for engaging large groups (40-50 members) of clinical opinion leaders across critical care disciplines from across the Province for purposes of clinical design for system and workflow as well as clinical informatics
Manages 5 interdisciplinary teams consisting of clinical, technical, applications support, and clinical informatics professionals in the support team.
 

Requirement or Qualifications:
Minimum undergraduate degree in a technical field with considerable healthcare experience, or an undergraduate degree in nursing, business or health administration with considerable technical experience. Graduate degree preferred.
A minimum of seven to ten years of recent experience managing IT services in a healthcare organization.
Must have a proven ability to develop strong relationships with clinical leaders
Resource Management & Leadership (if applicable)
Provides direct and indirect supervision to 40+ FTE including team leads, senior clinical analytics specialists, clinical analysts, business analysts, information management professionals, software developers, application support analysts and trainers, communications specialists, and clerical staff.
Accountable for budget of greater than 9 million
Provides input to the provincial critical care network, zone departmental, and unit planning
