About the Job

Our client has a requirement for Intermediate Structural Designer for a perm opportunity.  The positions are located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Requirements or Qualifications

As an Intermediate Structural Designer you will participate in a wide range of projects covering concrete foundations and structural steel 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Activities include site investigation and civil/structural steel modeling for both front end planning studies and the detailed engineering phase for multidiscipline projects. You will require demonstrable experience in civil and structural steel drafting and modeling.

You will be required to function independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a multidiscipline team.

JOB DUTIES:

• Contact with client engineering, maintenance and operations staff regarding proposal and project execution.
• Prepare design concepts for internal and client review.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and documentation for identified and approved concepts/projects.
• Participate in formal engineering review processes.
• Assist in co-ordination of work with other disciplines
• Verify on-site condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities
• Good communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years experience.
• Ability to interface with other disciplines and represent the organization in a professional manner.
• Diploma in Structural Engineering (or similar)
• Experience with 3D structural model environment.
• Experience with heavy industrial structures and their foundations
• Experienced in the use of Bentley Structural and Microstation

• Experience in mining and metallurgical processing facilities, material handling systems, chute, plate, launders, samplers and conveyors is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office is an asset.
