About the Job
Our client has a requirement for a Lead Developer for a 6 months contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Requirements or Qualifications 
The chosen candidate will join a development team responsible for developing a Patient Record Medical System. The system will provide users with in-depth information around patient records, appointments, doctors scheduling, inventory and patient health electronic record submissions.
This project is considered amongst the top initiatives for our client.

The candidate must
  • Be capable of proposing and documenting software design, analyzing requirements, and presenting implementation options.
  • Understand the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), be capable of analyzing requirements, be detail-oriented, embrace development best practices.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with peers, users, testers, and supervisors.
  • Be hands on, capable of analyzing existing code, writing new code, testing, debugging and production

 Essential Skills
  • 2+ years’ experience with PHP
  • Strong experience with MySQL & SQL(Knowledge of other server side languages such as Perl or Java is advantageous)
  • Extensive experience of working with Symfony and other frameworks such as Zend
  • Extensive experience with source control and version control tools (preferably Subversion- SVN)
  • An understanding of how to configure and administer IIS and MySQL/SQL
  • An understanding of common backend performance issues.
  • Experience of working with a dedicated QA team and adhering to a formalized QA and release process.
  • Familiarity with frontend development technologies and an understanding of the importance of modern web standards
  • Develops designs and delivers web site structure for Internet/Intranet sites.
  • Coding website using HTML, CSS, PHP, and XHTML, JavaScript or GUI design software.
  • Design HTML templates and supporting graphics that are consistent with company design standards.
  • Ability to work in a small team and build consensus with colleagues

Education / Experience
  • A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution (such as an Institute of Technology, College or University) in a field related to computer technology or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in web design HTML programming.
  • Enjoys helping people
  • Patience and versatile.
  • 5-10 year’s experience with IIS, SQL, & MySQL
  • 3-5 year’s experience with CMS systems, i.e. Drupal. Joomla, etc.
  • Good communication skills, good interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Ability to clearly and politely communicate with customers of all skill levels.

Nice to have
  • Experience managing Windows Servers
  • Some  knowledge of Networking (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory)
  • Some Technical support for Clinic staff on email, printers, network, and applications
  • Assist other members of the department with Clinic related issues.
  • Design graphical user interfaces for web-based applications on organization’s web sites.

Job Description
Our client has a requirement for a Lead Developer for a 12 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto.

Role
The Lead Developer (LD) will work primarily with the development team lead or Project Manager within various government IT development teams. The LD will be responsible for:
  • Reviewing requirements and provide structural and technical design
  • Participating in development, integration testing and implementation of Common Accounting project requirements in different phases under .NET FW4 platform
  • Participating in developing conceptual and logical data models where required
  • Working on assigned project tasks along with designated internal resources in the Client’s IT department and with business partners
  • Performing complete unit and Integration testing and deliver complete documentation during the application development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Transferring knowledge to the rest of the project team for future support / maintenance of application when applicable
  • Participate in addressing related production issues as part of production support team for application when it is required

Requirements or Qualifications
  • Experience in implementing Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) on .NET platforms (VS 2010 FW4)
  • Experience in Financial application development
  • Experience in systems integration and implementation of WCF web services in applications development
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in .NET application using C#
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in .NET application (FW 4)
  • Experience with .Net Frameworks like Prism and/or Entity Framework
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in using Oracle 10g or higher
  • Fully experienced in stored procedures and using tools such as Toad or PL/SQL developer
  • Ability to use TFS (Team Foundation Server), MS project and Visio
  • Ability to troubleshoot possible complex bugs and/or areas of concern in existing code
  • Advanced level ability in full cycle windows and Web application development using .NET FW4 using C#
  • Experience in systems integration and implementation of WCF web services in applications development
  • Experience with .Net Entity Frameworks and Prism
  • Experience in development of financial applications
  • Knowledge and experience of information technology providing the ability to integrate and identify IT-enabled opportunities to solve business pressures/need
  • Advanced skills in preparing design and technical documentation
  • Ability to work, unassisted with minimum supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and consensus-building skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Good negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work at a detailed level and quickly learn business application-specific details
  • Experience in BizTalk would be an asset

Project Manager III

We are looking for a Sr. IT Project Manager who has experience in managing medium to large infrastructure projects or infrastructure project upgrade. This candidate will also manage a number of direct reports including a Testing Manager and Lead Developer and work with various stakeholders.

Interviews will be held as soon as qualified candidates have been shortlsted.

Plan, coordinate and supervise complex informatics assignments. Design and apply new methods and procedures. Coordinate systems development for major applications, define project requirements including information and data needs, business analsyi8s and programming. Develop, plan, analyze, evaluate and assign priorities to deliverables and requirements. Define project phases, set deadlines and manage staff. Develop project plans with milestones. Coordinate all meeting and interface with business units, staff and service providers.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight and execution of multiple projects and project managers. Accountable for managing broad and highly complex teams and projects involving significant scope and complexity.


Key accountabilities are:
* Sets direction at an operational level, works autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborates with other business heads to establish and execute on common goals.
* Direct or manages large-scale applications, programs or projects across multiple product lines, involving significant scope and complexity. Ensures delivery of projects to the business partner, meeting the approved scope/cost/schedule/quality for the project.
* Perform a governing role for, ensuring that the proposal, execution, control, deployment, training and hand off, warranty support, and closure meet promised schedules.
* Performs risk identification and mitigation activities, escalating unresolved issues to the Executive and / or Steering Committee where appropriate to secure their timely decisions/support.
* Manages the acquisition and deployment of resources, including budget, by working with the Project Managers to secure the resources required for the project.
* Ensures client satisfaction with the project process and project team by effective and timely communication including status reporting, continual risk/issue assessment/management and escalation, and resolution of issues as they arise.
* The successful candidate will be required to work with and influence senior level leaders and partner with other IT Managers.
* Manage a team that consists of 50 - 100 people. SKILLS: Proven leadership skills and experience managing large and complex IT projects. Full life cycle development experience. Experience with proven project methodology tools. PMI or ITIL certification. Expertise in MS Project, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint.
