Our client has a requirement for 2 Intermediate Business Analysts for a 6 Month Contract opportunity. The positions are located in Toronto, ON.

The Business Analysts will be part of the market risk group and will help fill gaps in multiple projects that are currently in place.

Requirements or Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in a related technical field
  • 3 to 4 years of related work experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of concepts of VaR and Market Risk is an asset
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of linear and derivative products
  • Knowledge of testing concepts such as positive and negative testing is an asset.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to work in a self-directed manner on projects
  • Good analytic and troubleshooting skills
  • Good technical and computer skills.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to accommodate shifting priorities and manage tight deadlines
  • Programming skills with VBA, SQL preferred
  • Team player attitude

Role
Our client is looking for a BA with strong knowledge and experience of Global Delivery operations process design and implementation and with some focus on technology. The consultant will take a leadership role in working with and liaising with business partners and external vendors to define the operational requirements at the program level.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate leadership and partnership skills by interacting with other technology and vendor management teams within organization to solve problems and deliver solutions
  • Defining Global Delivery engagement decision tree / rules of engagement
  • Understand, document and interpret complex user requirements (consolidate information from various documents and sources and condense into a more presentable form).
  •  Defining work intake process and forms/templates
  • Reorganizing the existing SharePoint site with new strategy, program office mandate, preferred vendors list, vendor information material including financial information, process/templates to govern communication / engagement with internal stakeholders
  • Supporting chosen tool implementation for vendors
  • Providing support in developing the required material to share with internal stakeholders
  • Supporting Operations & Governance documents development effort with vendors
  • Develop use cases, defining and documenting user procedures and workflows, and how each class of user interacts with each function.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate data and process mapping to measure and track SLAs. ]
  • Collaborate with business leaders, IT professionals, and vendors ensuring that management is kept informed of project status and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately and clearly communicated.
  • Research/analyze issues; define opportunities for operational process improvements and making recommendations with in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Build trust among stakeholder groups involved with the project
  • Work with stakeholder groups to identify training needs and prepare materials (both at launch and ongoing).
  • Plan for and/or conduct training, as needed to support project delivery / change adoption.
  • Contribute in the identification and resolution of problems
  • Work collaboratively, understanding others ideas and concerns; and sharing ideas and information to support team mates on their deliverables
  • Ability to execute on ad-hoc non-routine requests.
  • Demonstrate governance, control and risk management behaviours in alignment with policies and practices

Requirements or Qualifications 
  • 5+ years Business Analsyt experience
  • Knowledge of Global Delivery Operations
  • Work experience in Operations Process Flow
  • 5+ years Process Documentation
  • 3+ years SharePoint
  • 3+ years SDLC & PMLC
  • 3+ years testing experience
  • 5+ years Vendor management experience
  • 5+ years Microsoft Office experience
  • Financial Institution background is an asset
  • eRequisition tool implementation experience is an asset
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time to Downtown Toronto

This individual will be working on a project to decide whether to upgrade to the latest version of the Barton & Bolton Unit Value Trade System or to implement a new system. The successful candidate will be skilled in using analytical techniques and decision analysis. The successful candidate will also have experience working in a large Financial Institution or Insurance company.  

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • Specialization in Business, Finance, Engineering, Science or Math is desirable
  • Experience in most facets of project lifecycle; proficient comprehension of project management methodologies; genuine commitment to project environment and discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Business Analysis (preferably in Information Technology).
  • Any knowledge of the following would be an asset::
    • Universal Life Insurance Policy (and in particular Fund) Administration
    • Barton & Bolton Unit Value Trade System Application System Knowledge
    • FundServ Application System Knowledge
    • HP/EDS Ingenium Application System Knowledge
    • MS-Access
  • Experience working with analytical techniques and decision analysis
  • Experience reviewing and documenting detailed business requirements
  • Exceptional writing and documentation skills (the manager will want candidates to bring examples of their written documentation to the interview.)
  • Financial background and financial knowledge, specifically, insurance experience is preferred
    • The manager would also be interested in a candidate with investment experience
  • Ability to come into a project with a very proactive attitude and hit the ground running
  • Knowledgeable on business process modeling, process mapping
  •  Capable of writing clear and well structured business requirements documents
  • Contributes to the development of detailed level process maps to facilitate requirements gathering, gap analysis and for training use
  • Ability to resolve minor conflicts/issues using different tactics for prior to escalation
  • Work with team members to understand the needs of the project
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
